"June, 2004: The minimum WNBA salary for players with 0-3 years of experience is $30,600 and for players with 4 or more years of experience it's $43,700. The maximum WNBA salary is $87,000. 2004 WNBA Rookies make somewhere between $41,000 and $34,000. Players on the team that wins the WNBA championship each get a bonus of $10,000. Players on the runner-up team each get $5,000."
Now I obviously didn't expect them to be anywhere near what the NBA players make, but $30,000?!?!? I had no idea that's all they were making.

It's definitely a part time job for the majority of the players.
Strange that they have a maximum individual salary though. I don't know how the league's draw is...maybe they can't afford much more? Anyway, I think that someone like Lisa Leslie would be paid more than that if they were allowed to.

this is what happens when a league is formed AFTER big money contracts are already a reality. In the 4 major sports, spending got out of control before the leagues could account for it (im remembering the bobby bonilla contract)- and the was no way to stop it.
before they even formed the WNBA, they decided to set it up in a way that would make sure people arent being ridiculously overpaid.

wow you guys are right, i just went to wnba.com and checked out the players. I probably clicked on 20 random chicks and i saw maybe 1 that I would stick a dollar in the g-string of. (that is by stripper standards, which tend to be lower)

Womens Tennis or Womens beach volley ball?
I go with Tennis, I realize there is less clothing involved in beach volley ball but...... Tennis tends to have the hotter women, and those little skirts drive me nuts!
