Ron Dayne sucks. Joe Hamilton deserved the heisman Dayne won sorry Badger appologists. Dayne is 3rd and he will always be 3rd barring injury until he retires.
Mike Bell will get the bulk of the carries. Need a back up or 3rd starter?
Take Tatum bell, on a lucky week, he'll get a touchdown on a 65 yard run and come through usually with between 60 and 120 yards in the mid season games. I'd say Tatum will get 15 carries a game and Mike Bell will get the bulk. Ron Dayne will have the maybe 5 emergency carries or one big run on Sportscenter. Why? Because denver can make a cardboard cut out be productive. A great runner like TD can go for 2K.

promising things for the future. First preseason taste for Cutler, got the bulk of the load, very impressive performance.
J CUTLER 16-22-192
1 TD 0 INTs
Yeah, looked like Cutler did a very good job. Bright future indeed.
On the other hand....there are some concerns with the present--namely, Gerard Warren sure as hell better be healthy when the regular season starts. I couldn't watch the game, but judging by the stats, Kevin Jones completely tore apart the run defense.

oh I would agree. If Kevin Jones is doing that, I can only imagine what LJ and LT would do to us.

I woner how much Kubiak's departure will affect the offense. I take it Shanahan pretty much let Kubes have a free reign.

I'm not sure, but offense has always been Shanny's specialty. Let's also not forget Mike Heimerdinger's back, and he did a great job whipping pass-catchers like Rod Smith and Shannon Sharpe into shape. Let's hope he does the same for Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler.
Let's also hope this sprained knee doesn't keep Marshall out too long.

And for your sake, I hope Javon Whiner doesn't run out of bananas.

Oh thank the Lord, ASHLIE LELIE IS NO LONGER A BRONCO!!!
Check out my post in the Redskins suck thread. It's more complicated than what was first reported, but once again we Bronco fans will be rooting against them this season. Too bad we aren't playing them again to help the cause out.

I'll join and you and thank Jebus that the Patriots didn't trade for him either.
I'm guessing the Broncos preferred to trade him to the NFC.
However, the Falcons aren't re-negotiating his contract, so as now he's still a free agent after this year. I can just picture him ending up with Eddie Quitterson in KC when it's all done.

congrats on trading us that worthless sack of crap WR.
Stupid trade. Really dumb. Now we are Detroit.
3 1st rounders at WR on a running team with a QB who completes less than 60% of his passes. I'll be shocked if Ashley gets 45 catches and 3 TD's.
Granted TJ wasn't a good fit here either, and we should have maybe taken Lelie in the first place, but I don't see Lelie adding that much to this team, definately not covering for Duckett who was horrible ending last season but what does one more soft bust with a crappy work ethic WR really give us YPC because that's all I can see out of it, maybe now Jenkins becomes the possession guy to make up for losing finn, although this means Dunn and Griffith may take more short yardage carries, and honestly, they've been better than Tip toe Duckett at that. He hits the hole like a bitch. If Washington can get Duckett going he's pretty good, but he's got to get quicker.
Oh well, I guess I can try and be optimistic even though we can't stop the run and we went out to get a bust for our 3rd WR and now we're depending on another rookie to step up. Ho hum.
TJ may now finally get the 20 carries he needs when Portis's shoulder won't hold up. Take him in fantasy, that's a much better fit for Duckett.
The clear winner in this situation to me is Denver, they get thier 3rd round pick they wasted on Clarett back. Washington gets a big and solid backup for Portis and Atlanta gets hosed with that worthless loser.
The best news is that he's a free agent next season.

I think the Falcons broke even. Both Lelie and Duckett are free agents next year, so they essentially traded one contract year guy for another. Besides with Dunn and now Norwood looking good, a #3 WR is more important than a #3 RB.
I think it's the 'Skins that got shafted here. But then again, they don't really care about draft picks anyway. Let's hope they keep calling Denver about them!
Right now, the Broncos have essentially gotten Champ Bailey, Tatum Bell, Domonique Foxworth, Brandon Marshall, Javon Walker, and part of Jay Cutler, in exchange for Clinton Portis and Jason Campbell. Sounds great to me.

it's absolutely amazing when you think about it. So many very good players you guys got for Clinton Portis, who now due to unfortunate circumstance be out at least several more weeks and Jason Campbell. Why? I have no Idea why they would take Campbell there.
and the broncos continue to find people. Ruben, Anderson, Mike Bell, Tatum Bell....
it's what annoys me about this trade. My team knew this crap in the off season, they knew they had 2 essentially rookies, and a servicable 3rd who is really the #1 WR in importance.
The best things about Lelie for us are 1) he can be out in a year and 2) he can stretch the field.
Other than that, trading a pretty good backup RB in a contract year for a #3 WR I just don't like it.
