Yeah, but it was quickly forgotten, because that happened on September 10, 2001.

I'm worried about Plummers psyche. I'm sure Shannahan (Sp?) can keep him together, but drafting Cutler can't help Jake out mentally. Plus remember how bad he played in thier last playoff game? Can he get past this to perform well in every playoff game and a super bowl? I don't believe he can.

On the contrary, Plummer's been a complete class act after Cutler was drafted. He said he would have done the same thing if he was Shanny, and his attitude shows signs of him pulling a Drew Brees and doing his best to keep the rookie on the bench (which would be scary if that happened because Plummer was coming off a near-Pro Bowl year).

Wow that was Sept 10, 2001. I had no idea! Anyway, if Plummer pulls a Brees the Broncos could be primed for a superbowl birth. I guess I just worry about how he will perform if they were to get there.

If he can get the Cardinals to the 2nd round, he can win a Super Bowl with the Broncos.

Don't worry, the signing of Micah Knorr added enough life.

As for LJ, he just better hope that Roaf and Shields stay healthy.

As a fan of not one AFC West team, I can faithfully say that LJ has replaced Steve McNair as my favorite non-Cowboys NFLer of the past five years. Even with his "run all over your asses" performance against the 'boys last year.

Seriously, he was a cock to his teammates coming up w/ the whole Priest thing, but his talent is unfuckingreal. I will gladly draft him #1 overall in both of my fantasy drafts if given the opportunity.

I just hope the Madden cover people don't get ahold of him. Alexander is SCREWED.

Well Roaf looks like he'll retire now. LJ will be fine though.

So who is carrying the ball this year? Dayne or Bell? I assume it will probably be similar to last year with Dayne taking over the Mike Anderson role.

Well, looking at training camp right now, both Dayne and Bell are struggling. :? The rookie Mike Bell seems to be doing well, though.

It kinda validates those rumors that Lelie might be traded for a RB.

After seeing Norwood, however breif in camp this past weekend, I don't think it will be TJ Duckett at least in the preseason though he's a guy Denver would Love to have.. Geez does TJ look in shape. no gut at all. He's probably around 225 or 230 right now and rocked up. If he stops tiptoing and starts running down hill............... Ok that, and even with Finn going down, Lelie, is severely overated in his own mind.

If they go with Dayne (because you and I both know Tatum Bell won't take the bulk of any teams carries, but he'll be good in spots) I think it's borderline arrogance. They need a decent workhorse to put in front of Tatum Bell.

What about Cedric Cobbs? Is he still with them? I like that guy and as soon as they signed him I thought it would be great to see him finally get to play.

Yep. Not too much good news from him.

Something I just thought of: Cobbs was on the Broncos' radar when he was drafted by the Patriots. Had the Broncos not been able to get Cutler this year, they would have taken a guy very familiar to zone-blocking schemes: Laurence Maroney, who also went to the Patriots. Interesting.

Well how about this! The guy I really wanted in the 2004 NFL Draft makes his way on the Broncos eventually. I don't know why he's been a big bust so far. I remember when davo said that he was second to Larry Fitzgerald in that draft, and that Roy Williams (WR) would be a huge bust.

Broncos claim Woods off waivers
By Rocky Mountain News
August 2, 2006
ENGLEWOOD — The Broncos today claimed former first-round pick Rashaun Woods after he had been waived by San Diego, another move designed to shore up a wide receiver position weakened by Ashley Lelie's holdout.

Woods was taken 31st overall by San Francisco in the 2004 draft out of Oklahoma State. In his rookie season, Woods played in 14 games, catching seven passes for 160 yards (22.9-yard average) and one touchdown. Woods did not play last season and spent 13 games on injured reserve. The 49ers traded him to the Chargers earlier this off-season for cornerback Sammy Davis.

To make room on their roster for Woods, the Broncos waived Marty Johnson, a running back from Utah.

Lelie is refusing to report to training camp because he wants to be traded to a team that will give him an opportunity to be a No. 1 receiver.

some of them shouldn't have been though. Although Bailey, Walker, and Williams certainly come to mind as guys who have performed according to where they were picked. Besides, would you expect any less from the future Super Bowl champions. :D
