Why the fuck does ESPN give shit away in the effing titles of their top stories on ESPN.com?! FU ESPN!
It's tough to keep the results quiet, basically impossible. They should post a *spoiler alert* though.
Anybody know is the sports guy is still around? I've been searching everywhere for his results but can't find them. I'm pretty sure he played yesterday

this should be shown live....
of course, we had this exact discussion last year
the final table can be seen on PPV this year. I might get it, not sure yet. Depends on how much it is and who's left
i won't get it, i can't sit and watch live poker for 15 hours, which is how long -- at least -- the final table will last.
My buddy begins his run at the main event today. Cross your fingers, if he lasts a few days he's flying me out.
Clubber... how much are they asking?
rich.... you have a good point about the 15 hours... but there is nothing i would rather do than sit on my ass playing partypoker for 15 hours along side of them... also, even taking a night or two to edit and then have ready, well, that's fine... but don't wait until October like last year... that's ridiculous (i dont know when it will air this year, but last year it was Oct, im pretty sure)
oh, and i see you already answered my question Clubber... sorry, a wake-and-bake for me today

Huge news! First off, ESPN has got the rights to the World Series of Poker through 2010, but bigger is that they are going to be live broadcasting this year's final table both through a live pay-per-view broadcast and online. The PPV will be $24.95 and according to the press release, "poker enthusiasts will be able to see all the action as it happens with The World Series of Poker Live! from the 2006 Final Table on their TV screens or via live video stream at ESPN.com, starting at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 10, until the champion is crowned...Viewers who want to purchase The World Series of Poker Live!, can order ESPN pay-per-view at http://www.espnpayperview.com, or by contacting their pay-per-view provider.

i'll be ordering... that way i can keep up with everything throughout...
please put (spoiler) on this thread so we can discuss, if we want to... i know Doyle was hurtin yesterday, now, im going to see how he did
Shannon Elizabeth's fine ass went out early... that's really too bad

*SPOILER*
Doyle was eliminated yesterday and was given a standing ovation. Looks like Allan Cunningham is the pro with the most chips so far. Still haven't found out about the sports guy.

my friend just texted me, he's at the ESPN table right now. he's down to about 5,000 chips, but the blinds are still low 100/200, so he can pick his spots at this point.

what's his name? keep us updated
his name is Jamie Hall, he got knocked out at the end of last night's session. He was getting shortstacked, made a move with A8 and the SB had KK. No luck and his tourney came to an end, but he was at the table when the mouth got knocked out so he's going to be on TV for sure. I'll tell you what, staying alive in that tourney is hard. We talked a ton yesterday and he was playing tight, but it just wasn't happening. He picked up AA twice and got very little action. He did double up when his KK tripped up over AA just after the dinner break, but that was the final highlight.
I think he played too loose early, because his stack got halved in the first two hours. After that he did a good job staying alive, but you can't play in that tournament without chips because when you come alive people put you on a monster.

my buddy who played one of the events this year said that it's tighter than tight... i can only imagine
OK I got a little confused when I clicked on the Cardplayer site and it said only 2160 entries into the tournament, when I read before that they were up over 8000 total entries... I guess they are staggering the fields until each group has roughly 900 players left with hopefully half the players being eliminated by Tuesday. I can't wait to watch the highlights on ESPN

yes... they have 4 Day 1's... and 2 Day 2's i believe
anyway, i dont think ESPN will show any highlights until they actually show the WSOP "in full" some three months from now
