what is the remaining schedule? the twins are seemingly a lock for tonite w/santana pitching at home (aren't they like 20-0 in his last 20 home starts?) so that would bring them 2 back.
and i know the twins have some games w/KC and maybe more w/tampa bay? and they wrap up with 3 against the white sox...

after today, 3 at home vs. oakland, 4 in cleveland, 3 in boston, 3 in baltimore, 4 at home against kc, and 3 at home against the white sox.
good for the twins:
1) liriano is pitching on wednesday
2) halfner is done for the season, making cleveland series easier
3) 2 toughest series (oak and chi) are at home
4) 2 more games to play than the tigers
bad for the twins:
1) only one day off
2) silva
3) juan rincon is falling apart

I think you may have jinxed him. Say something nice about Mauer and Morneau now...please. Kidding of course. I was watching (I have MLB extra innings) that game and he was dealing before he felt the pain. I think that ultimately this guy is closer material like Joel Zumaya who was a starter his whole life until this year.

That's part of the problem with young pitchers now. The most innings they pitch before the major-league level is about 110-120 innings. They need to get more pitches and innings in. If not, you risk injury. Look at Verlander. They had to shut him down last year and skip a start this year. He looked awful yesterday. I don't think he's wearing down too much, but he's definitely in uncharted territory.

It's going to be a great two weeks to see who gets this thing. I think the White Sox and Tigers might pick it up a notch making it that more interesting.

twins-white sox final series of the year... probably going to be very meaningful (but hopefully the twins can extend their lead/clinch something before that series!)
