So we've got Bertuzzi/Allen/Auld for Luongo/Krajicek/6th round pick.

Plus we've got Chris Pronger reportedly asking for a trade.

I'd say this is some huge news and we need a new thread to get us through until the '06-'07 season starts up. I'll give my opinions on both moves and on the draft soon enough.

I've been posting in the other thread.

Havlat has come out and said he'll only sign a one year deal, I think he's gone soon.

The Luongo deal is a fleecing by Vancouver. Keenan is a moron.

i really don;t care what happens - as long as my leafs don;t get rid of oue young talent and as long as McCabe stays.

but i see Weight going back to St. louis

alot of goalie moves-... too many decent backups around-

pronger going to Dallas? or Detroit?

once again Wild doing nothing- cheap bastards

and it does not matter what Ottawa does- they will tank in the playoffs like they always do .
yes this will be a huge offseason

I don't know... Florida has done a good job of proving that you can't get by with a good goalie and nothing else... even if he is one of the best goalies in the league. Luongo wasn't all that interested in staying so they decided to try another approach. Bertuzzi and Jokinen could put up some insane numbers together. I think they'll be ok, and if Auld lives up to his potential, he'll be fine. If they can build at least a decent defence, I think they'll be very good.

In Vancouver's eyes they gave up an unproven d-man and an unproven goalie for a top five goalie. There aren't many times you can do something like that. If Bertuzzi returns to form, this deal will look better, but right now it doesn't look good for Florida. I'm a fan of Auld, but I don't think he'll ever be as good as Luongo. Luongo will be a finalist for the Vezina next season. I guess it's better than getting nothing.

Phil Kessel will be the bust of this year's draft.

Hey... let's get some use out of this one.

1. Johnson
2. Staal
3. Toews
4. Backstrom
5. Kessel

I'm not surprised to see Kessel fall as far as he did.

Leafs got Raycroft for Rask.
Flames got Tanguay
Apparently the Wild are planning on scoring now and then this year, as the got Pavol Demitra.

that tanguay deal is a bit stunning... he's been one of the most consistent playmakers over the last few years, and im not sure Jordan Leopold's defensive presence offsets the scoring ability the avs just lost... so it appears the flames got the upper hand in this one (pending what can be made of those draft picks).

as for the leafs giving up Rask, sounds interesting... i know they still have Pogge, but it sounded like Rask had more potential.

I don't know... Pogge won WHL Goalie of the Year and MVP and CHL Goalie of the Year. He should be great.

Ottawa looking at a goalie in San Jose, not sure which. Havlat would likely be headed the other way.

Probably Nabokov, since Toskala won the starting job last season, but you never know.

Oh dear god... Thornton + Cheechoo on line 1, Marleau + Havlat on line 2... . That would be a great deal for both teams.

Thinking about the Bruins makes me depressed, I just wish management would make an effort to put a good team out on the ice.

From what I've been hearing over the past few years, the problem has been ownership, not management. Is that wrong?

I can't believe the Panthers moved Luongo. Great, great move for Vancouver.

Bruins traded Nick Boynton to Phoenix for Paul Mara. This is a decent trade.

Habs resign Huet to two year, $5.75M deal. Look for them to try and move Aebischer, because there's no way they're going to pay a backup close to $2.0M when they have a capable one in Danis in the system who they can pay the league minimum to. I'm not convinced that Huet isn't a flash in the pan, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Now go get a 1st line center!

Sens apparently closing in on a deal to sign Redden, but far apart on a deal with Chara.

Havlat to San Jose for Toskala could very well happen if Havlat is willing to sign a 3 year deal. Unfortunately, him and his agent are being dicks about it.

The Bruins finally fired their coach Mike Sullivan and are supposedly going to hire Dave Lewis. They also interviewed Pat Quinn and Kevin Dineen.
