yes, because he only has a 3/1 k/bb ratio and a nearly 2 to 1 ground ball to fly ball ratio just after coming off an injury. he's clearly been terrible.

Well, at least one of the two stats you mentioned is applicable in fantasy baseball
How's your team doing in the Red Mosquito league BTW, o god of baseball knowledge?

yes, and the other is indicative of how well he's pitched.

it wouldnt be a proper sports thread without davo the douche putting in his unquestionable looked up on the internet stats in, now would it? you must do quite well with the ladies there, stat boy.

Well that's great that it indicates that he's pitched "well". Unfortunately, pitching "well" is not a category in fantasy baseball, and that is the nature of this thread. Maybe failure to understand this point is why you're doing so shitty. I'll bet that sabermetrically you have the best team 2004 has to offer
Brad Penny has had 2 good starts (won 2) and 3 shitty ones (lost 2 + 1 no decision). No matter what stats you pull out of your ass about him, for a person that has the rotation listed above, there's no need to wait and see on Brad Penny. Especially considering his stats match his career numbers other than his ERA being a tad high. Then again, you have Weaver and Brown as SP's on your team, so what do I know?

bleh. the guy said he wouldn't drop anyone for him. even with two starts that can be labeled as terrible he's still been better than a hell of a lot of starters, probably even most.

i didn't say there was a need. as for weaver and brown, for one, weaver hasn't been bad for a couple years now. he has a high ERA that is pretty much due to bad luck.
you bash me for brown. since i picked up brown he's had two starts, thrown 13 innings, given up 13 hits, one walk, five strikeouts and three earned runs with two wins. i'll take that. again, a high ERA that is mostly attributable to bad luck.
furthermore, since you think my team in this league is so pathetic. this is what my record would be had I played your team in every week of the season thus far:
40-42-2. not a winning record, but close, and the only reason it wouldn't be a winning record is i didn't meet pitching requirements one week by two thirds of an inning. also, in week two i lost 14-0. had i been playing peoria chiefs west i'd have won 8-6. see, bad luck does play a part in these things, like ben sheets having a bad ear infection or whatever and missing a month.
