FOXBORO, Mass. -- The Patriots placed Ty Law on injured reserve Friday and said the four-time Pro Bowl cornerback will miss the entire postseason.

The 10-year veteran missed the last nine games of the regular season after breaking his foot in an Oct. 31 game at Pittsburgh.

The Patriots have this weekend off. The defending Super Bowl champions will play Indianapolis in the second round of the playoffs if the Colts beat Denver on Sunday. Otherwise, the winner of Saturday's game between the New York Jets and San Diego will visit Foxboro on Jan. 16.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Uh oh......will the injuries finally catch up with the champs? It sure makes them more vulnerable. I'd be a bit worried if i was a Pats fan right now

hmm, so Troy Brown will be guarding Reggie Wayne or Harrison?

Maybe Bethel Johnson can cover Stokley?

If the Broncos win it won't matter, Jake will keep New England in it.

The Patriots won the SB last year while losing more player games to injury than any other team.
They'll be just fine, and they'll beat Indy.

I'm not gonna get too into this cause the Colts still ahve to beat denver on Sunday, but the injuries last year didn't consist of their best cover corner(Law) and their best defensive lineman(Seymour). Plus i checked the weather for next Sunday(i know it's early but i can always hope) - 35 degrees, sunny, wind 10 mph. Cmon manning, just play your game against the Broncs and we got a real shot at the champs

as near as i can tell, if you were a Pats fan, you'd just continue spouting rubbish about how awesome "we" are and how "we" are gonna win the superbowl, etc etc etc

Seymour was on ESPN and he says he has a 50/50 chance of playing next week.

There is a difference between the regular season (where your stat comes from) and the playoffs.

Ty only played in six games and yeah, the Pats won all six, but only two of them were really close. If the Pats do end up playing the Colts he will be missed because he really is in Manning's head, but I'm not worried at all. We'll be shorthanded in the secondary, but Bill will come up with some kind of scheme. If Seymour doesn't play I think he'd be a bigger loss, but all signs point to him playing (although probably not at 100%).

Edge didn't play last year either, then again if he's going to fumble twice in the red zone like he did in the earlier meeting do you really want him to play?

Indy still would have to stop Corey Dillon, and Todd Brady has ice water in his veins.

Seymour will play, he's a badass, he's tough, and he's a Bulldog.

I hope to get that game, It would be fantastic I think.

While this is extremely disappointing, they have won 8 out of the past 10 games without him, including the Jets, Bills, St. Louis and Baltimore. No reason to panic just yet.

well hopefully the pats play the jets but the chances of that are about 1%. most likely they will play the colts. the real AFC championship in that case will be Pats vs. Colts. Either team in my opinion will beat the Steelers. Now back to the Pats / Colts........... Law being out sucks...... really bad. Am I confident????? yes......... so much....... no. But I still think coach Bill (in his grey hoooded sweatshirt) will be the difference. A 2 1/2 - 3 point spread most likely will cause the whole world to jump on INDY and I love that..... in a round about way it puts the Colts as the favorite. I just hope it's 20 degrees or lower that day...............

Were you Pat fans expecting him to comeback? And if he did comeback were you expecting him to have any kind of impact?
