**The Strikeforce card from this past Saturday averaged 463,000 viewers featuring Daniel Cormier Vs Josh Barnett in the finals of the Heavyweight Grand Prix and Gilbert Melendez defending the Lightweight Title against Josh Thomson.

**The UFC has announced that they will return to Indianapolis, Indiana on September 7th for the UFC on FX 5 event at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse and the first time they will return to the city since UFC 119 in September 2010.

**The following fights involving fighters from the current season of TUF Live have been added to the June 1st TUF Finale in Las Vegas and airing on FX that night:
*Justin Lawrence Vs John Cofer
*Chris Saunders Vs Myles Jury
*Cristiano Marcello Vs Sam Sicilia
*Chris Tickle Vs Daron Cruickshank

**Fighters Only reports that Rafael dos Anjos will replace the injured Paul Taylor to fight Anthony Njokuani in a lightweight bout at the UFC on FUEL 4 event on July 11th in San Jose, California.

**The UFC has added a welterweight bout between Claude Patrick and James Head to the UFC 149 card on July 21st in Calgary, Alberta.

**The UFC has also added the following three more fights to the August 4th UFC on FOX 4 card in Los Angeles:
*Mike Swick Vs DaMarques Johnson
*Nam Phan Vs Cole Miller
*Pablo Garza Vs Josh Grispi

**Nick Diaz appeared in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission on Monday and was denied in his attempt to reduce his suspension after testing positive for marijuana metabolites following his fight with Carlos Condit at UFC 143. Diaz’s one-year suspension was sustained and retroactive to February 3rd so there is no chance of him fighting later this year. Diaz and his lawyer Ross Goodman tried to argue that the test did not prove he smoked ‘in competition’ and that it would have had any effect on the fight but the commission shot down the argument. Diaz interestingly enough said he found marijuana to be a performance enhancer when he was sparring and help with his reflexes. There was also a source of controversy regarding his medical marijuana card that Diaz stated he had in California but in fact never officially received the card but only a recommendation that was valid for one-year that he received in years past on a number of occasions. The argument that one has a medical marijuana card and therefore should be above commission law doesn’t work for me because this isn’t a debate about whether marijuana is healthy or not for a fighter but rather an enforcement of rules and banned substances across the board and every commission has the right to ban certain substances regardless of whether a fighter can obtain said substance legally. Caffeine is also a banned substance to the point that energy drinks and coffee are not allowed in the locker room at some events and if someone were found to have certain levels of caffeine in their system they would also be subject to punishment regardless of the argument that coffee is legal.

**Last Friday’s edition of TUF Live only did 821,000 viewers on FX and was the lowest mark of the season. What was more disappointing is the fact that only did you have two of the quarter-final fights but also the tease of Urijah Faber’s opponent being announced and it didn’t result in any added interest. I cannot imagine that the current incarnation of the show will extend to the next season and some major changes will be made after this season.

**Bellator on the other hand scored their highest number of the season with 209,000 viewers tuning in on Friday night for Bellator 69 featuring the finals of the Middleweight tournament between Maiquel Falcao and Andreas Spang.

**It was reported by USA Today that Josh Barnett will fight one more time for Strikeforce and then his future will be up in the air regarding whether or not he is signed by the UFC. Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier is also scheduled to fight one more time for Strikeforce as well and then is a lock to move over to the UFC.

Cain looked better tonight though. Not that JDS looked bad at all. Cain just fucking devastated Big Foot.

**Paul Heyman interviews Mike Tyson on the ‘Heyman Hustle’ about the recent arrest of Jon Jones of suspicion of DUI:

**Here are the main card results from Bellator 70 held friday night in New Orleans, Louisiana and the final show of their sixth season:

*Rich Clementi over Derek Campos by guillotine choke at 4:18 of Round 1
*Luis Nogueira over Hiroshi Nakamura by KO at 1:58 of Round 3
*Cole Konrad over Eric Prindle by kimura at 1:00 of Round 1 to keep the Bellator Heavyweight Title
*Rick Hawn over Brent Weedman by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) to win the Welterweight tournament

**Mike Chiesa and Al Iaquinta advanced to the finals of the current season of TUF on Friday. Chisea lost the opening round to James Vick but came back in the second round with a slam and followup ground and pound to get the upset win over Vick. Iaquinta looked very good in his bout with Vinc Pichel and won the two rounds and got the decision from the judges. That means that both finalists will be representing Team Faber in the finals next Friday night with no representative from Team Cruz.

**Due to the damage sustained by James Vick in the fight he has been medically suspended by the Nevada State Athletic Commission and will not be able to fight on the finale event next Friday night. With Vick unable to fight that means Vinc Pichel has no one to fight and will also not be fighting on the finale card.

**Here are the results from the UFC 146 card from last night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena with an announced crowd of 14,592 and a live gate of $3,400,000:
*Mike Thomas Brown over Daniel Pineda by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Glover Teixeira over Kyle Kingsbury by arm-triangle choke at 1:53 of Round 1
*Paul Sass over Jacob Volkmann by triangle choke armbar at 1:54 of Round 1
*Dan Hardy over Duane Ludwig by KO at 3:51 of Round 1
*C.B. Dollaway over Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller by unanimous decision (30-26, 29-28, 29-28)
*Jamie Varner over Edson Barboza by TKO at 3:23 of Round 1
*Darren Elkins over Diego Brandao by unanimous decision (29-28 all)
*Stefan Struve over Lavar Johnson by armbar at 1:05 of Round 1
*Stipe Miocic over Shane Del Rosario by TKO at 3:14 of Round 2
*Roy Nelson over Dave Herman by KO at 0:51 of Round 1
*Cain Velasquez over Antonio Silva by TKO at 3:36 of Round 1
*Junior Dos Santos over Frank Mir by TKO at 3:04 of Round 2 to keep the UFC Heavyweight Title

**There was no Fight of the Night bonus handed out but instead they gave out two KO and Submission of the Night bonuses with each receiving $70,000:
*Knockout of the Night – Roy Nelson and Dan Hardy
*Submission of the Night – Paul Sass and Stefan Struve

**A strange circumstance involving Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller and the UFC backstage following his loss to C.B. Dollaway has led to Miller being released from the company. Dana White would not go into details after the card at the post fight press conference only saying some strange stuff occurred in the back and Miller is gone. Last night was Miller’s second straight loss in the UFC and was the consensus worst fight of the night with White tweeting ‘That Sucked’ right after the bout.

Image
**The big story for wrestling fans coming out of UFC 146 was the appearance of Brock Lesnar at cage side for the main event and was shown and acknowledged on camera. Lesnar had apparently contacted Dana White about a week ago saying he would like to come to the show and to keep it quiet and that is exactly what happened. Lesnar only came out in front of the crowd for the main event and sat with Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta prior to the JDS Vs Frank Mir fight. At the post fight press conference White said he would be speaking to Lesnar later that night and for the first time in Zuffa’s history stated that he would be open to allowing Lesnar to fight in the UFC while simultaneously working for the WWE (White has always had a hard stance against allowing his fighters to do pro wrestling at the same time and was the breaking point when negotiating with Kurt Angle in 2006. The one exception has been Josh Barnett, who had a pre-existing contract with Strikeforce when Zuffa purchased the company in March 2011 and allowed Barnett to wrestle for IGF in Japan while fighting in Strikeforce). There are tons of issues that come out of this and nothing concrete in regards to whether the WWE was aware of Lesnar appearing or not at the show on Saturday night.

**Dana White announced at the press conference that Vitor Belfort has broken his hand and is off of the UFC 147 card on June 23rd in Brazil. They are currently searching out a new opponent for Wanderlei Silva on that card.

**Popular UFC ring card girl Arianny Celeste (real name Arianny Lopez) was arrested early Saturday morning in Las Vegas for domestic violence in Las Vegas.
Image
Celeste was released later that day on a $3,000 bond and was at the MGM Grand Garden Arena last night but did not come out to the arena portion until late in the card.

**The UFC has announced that the new main event for UFC 147 will be Wanderlei Silva taking on Rich Franklin, who replaces Vitor Belfort. Belfort had to pull out of the fight due to a broken hand with Franklin being moved from the July 7th card where he was to fight Cung Le to the June 23rd event. Franklin defeated Silva in June 2009 by unanimous decision at UFC 99.

**UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones pled guilty on Tuesday to a misdemeanour charge for driving while intoxicated. As a result of the plea Jones has had his driving privileges suspended and will go through alcohol abuse and dependency evaluation. Jones will return to court on June 19th and faces up to one-year in jail and a fine of $1,000.

**The UFC 146 preliminary fights averaged 1,300,000 viewers this past Saturday on FX. The preliminary card was headlined by Dan Hardy defeating Duane Ludwig in the opening round.

*Daron Cruickshank Vs Chris Tickle

*Joe Proctor Vs Jeremy Larsen
*John Albert Vs Erik Perez (airing at Facebook.com/UFC at 5:30pm EST)

**Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller appeared on Ariel Helwani’s ‘The MMA Hour’ podcast on Monday and confirmed that he has retired following his loss to C.B. Dollaway this past Saturday and subsequent release by the UFC. Miller didn’t go into much detail regarding the incident backstage that Dana White made mention of after the card but said it had to do with an argument between Miller and UFC employee Burt Watson prior to his entrance. Miller was wearing a mask for his entrance and Watson was conveying orders that he not wear the mask to the ring and led to a big blow up as Mayhem said he was focused on the fight as it was right before he was set to make his entrance.

**Dustin Jenson, a 26-year old amateur mixed martial artist has died following a seizure he suffered following a fight he had on an unregulated show in Rapid City, South Dakota on May 18th. Jenson competed against Hayden Hensrud that night and submitted to a triangle choke but remained conscious and appeared fine after the fight and came back to watch the next two fights before retiring to the dressing room to stretch where he suffered a seizure. There were medical staff at the event and transported him to a hospital where he was placed in a medically induced coma but he was later declared brain dead and taken off of life support last Thursday and died.

**Strikeforce has officially announced their next show for July 14th in Portland, Oregon at the Rose Garden. The event will be headlined by Luke Rockhold Vs Tim Kennedy for the Middleweight Title and the vacant Welterweight Title will be decided in a bout between Tyron Woodley and Nate Marquardt.

**UFC welterweight Matt Brown has announced that he is replacing Matt Riddle on the June 22nd UFC on FX 4 card against Luis Ramos.

**Invicta Fighting Championships has announced their second event for July 28th in Kansas City, Missouri at Memorial Hall headlined by Sara McMann Vs Shayna Baszler and currently scheduled to air on YouTube with Mauro Ranallo calling the action for the promotion.

**With Rich Franklin being moved to the June 23rd UFC 147 card in Brazil to fight Wanderlei Silva, the UFC has re-signed middleweight Patrick Cote to fight Cung Le on the July 7th UFC 148 card. Le was originally scheduled to fight Franklin on that card with the new fight announced on Wednesday. Cote exited the UFC in 2010 following a three-fight losing skid but has since won four in a row outside of the UFC with his most recent win coming against Gustavo Machado this past March.

**The UFC did a poll on their Facebook page this past week where fans could vote on what music the TUF contestants will come out to for their fights tomorrow night on the finale show. Each fighter had two options you could pick from including ‘Real American’ by Rick Derringer for Daron Cruickshank, who has used that music on smaller cards in the past.

**UFC Light Heavyweight Chad Griggs has been forced to pull out of the August 4th UFC on FOX 4 card where he was scheduled to fight Phil Davis. Taking the spot of Griggs is 7-0 Brazilian fighter Wagner Prado, who is making his UFC debut.

**Season 6 of Bellator capped off with Bellator 70 last Friday and only averaged 119,000 viewers featuring the finals of the welterweight tournament. The promotion’s summer series returns on June 22nd with Bellator 71.

**Papy Abedi is off of the June 22nd UFC on FX 4 card in Atlantic City, New Jersey. New signee Brock Jardine will now fight original opponent Rick Story in a welterweight bout on the card.

**Kenny Florian announced on Thursday night that he has officially retired and will be dedicating all of his time to broadcasting and also plans to open a gym in Los Angeles in the near future. Florian retires with a 14-6 record and had three title shots during his career with the first being in October 2006 when he lost a five-round decision to Sean Sherk and then challenges B.J. Penn in August 2009 before dropping down to featherweight and challenging Jose Aldo last October in his final fight. Florian was a member of the first season of TUF in January 2005 and went to the finals of the 185-pound tournament losing to Diego Sanchez with both fighting at a weight way too big for each and would both drop after the series. Florian had experienced a lot of back problems and that certainly played a big part in his decision.

**UFC Light Heavyweight Thiago Silva has been removed from the July 21st UFC 149 card in Calgary due to an injury. UFC President Dana White spoke to MMAJunkie.com about a possible new opponent for Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua and wanted to insert Glover Teixeira into the spot but Shogun’s camp is adamant against the taking the fight with Teixeira, who just made his UFC debut this past Saturday at UFC 146 defeating Kyle Kingsbury.

**Here are the results from the TUF Live Finale held on Friday night in front of 1,628 at The Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada for a live gate of $195,000:
*Erik Perez over John Albert by verbal submission at 4:18 of Round 1 – this was the most controversial stoppage of the night as Kim Winslow stopped the fight when Perez applied an armbar and based her stoppage on Albert’s yell. UFC President Dana White was upset with the stoppage and gave Albert his win bonus as a result.
*Joe Proctor over Jeremy Larsen by TKO at 1:59 of Round 1
*Sam Sicilia over Cristiano Marcello by TKO at 2:53 of Round 2
*Myles Jury over Chris Saunders by guillotine choke at 4:03 of Round 1
*Daron Cruickshank over Chris Tickle by unanimous decision (29-27 all) – Tickle was deducted a point in the first round for an up kick off his back while Cruickshank had a knee to the mat
*Justin Lawrence over John Cofer by KO at 0:19 of Round 3
*Max Holloway over Pat Schilling by unanimous decision (30-27 all)
*Charles Oliveira over Jonathan Brookins by guillotine choke at 2:42 of Round 2
*Mike Chiesa over Al Iaquinta by rear-naked choke at 2:37 of Round 1 to win the UFC contract
*Martin Kampmann over Jake Ellenberger by KO at 1:40 of Round 2

**The following $40,000 bonuses were handed out after the card:
*Fight of the Night – Justin Lawrence Vs John Cofer
*Knockout of the Night – Martin Kampmann and Justin Lawrence
*Submission of the Night – Mike Chiesa

**Chris Tickle is planning to move down to 135-pounds after his night’s bout at featherweight.

**Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission Keith Kizer confirmed to MMAJunkie.com this week that UFC Heavyweight Frank Mir was approved for Testosterone Replacement Therapy this past March after he began taking testosterone this past January. Mir was subjected to five blood tests and two urine tests prior to his bout with Junior Dos Santos at UFC 146 last weekend and all levels fell within the allowable range for the NSAC. The commission also recently gave the green light for Chael Sonnen to use TRT in preparation for his July 7th bout with Anderson Silva in Las Vegas.

**The UFC is getting hit with a major rash of injuries as Jon Fitch is the latest fighter to pull out of a fight with a knee injury sustained in training. Fitch was scheduled to fight Aaron Simpson on the July 11th UFC on FX card in San Jose, California where Fitch would have been a local draw because of his ties to the AKA Gym in town.

**Thiago Alves has been forced off of the July 21st UFC 149 card in Calgary, Alberta due to injury where he was scheduled to fight Siyar Bahadurzada. UFC Welterweight Chris Clements has taken the spot.

**Bellator 72 has been announced for July 20th in Tampa, Florida headlined by Bryan Baker Vs Karl Amoussou in the finals of the Lightweight tournament as well as a welterweight bout between Waachiim Spiritwolf and Marius Zaromskis.

**The next international edition of the ‘Ultimate Fighter’ dubbed ‘The Smashes’ pitting Australia against the U.K. will feature Lightweights and Welterweights. The series has yet to confirm coaches for the season.

**The UFC has signed former DREAM Bantamweight Champion Bibiano Fernandes and he will debut at the July 21st UFC 149 card in Calgary, Alberta against Roland Delorme.

**MMAJunkie.com is reporting that UFC Middleweight Brian Stann has suffered an injury in training and will be out of the UFC on FOX 4 card set for August 4th where he was scheduled to fight former Bellator Middleweight Champion Hector Lombard. This would add to the streak of UFC 146 (Dos Santos Vs Overeem), 147 (Wanderlei Vs Belfort), 148 (Cruz Vs Faber), FUEL 4 (Simpson Vs Fitch), 149 (Thiago Alves Vs Bahadurzada, Thiago Silva Vs Shogun) that have had prominent fights fall apart due to injury or in the case of Overeem – not being licensed in the state of Nevada.

**B.J. Penn has come out and said he accepts the challenge made by UFC Welterweight Rory MacDonald on this past week’s edition of ‘The MMA Hour’ with Ariel Helwani. Penn announced his retirement following his loss to Nick Diaz last October at UFC 137 but has recently said he’s been getting the bug to return. Josh Koscheck has openly challenged Penn but it was MacDonald, who got the attention of the former Welterweight and Lightweight Champion.

**The UFC has announced that Kenny Robertson will take the spot of the injured Jon Fitch on the UFC on FUEL 4 event set for July 11th in San Jose, California. Robertson will be fighting Aaron Simpson on the card, who is coming down from 185 to enter the welterweight division.

**A featherweight bout between Eddie Yagin and Dennis Siver has been added to the UFC 151 card on September 1st in Las Vegas. That same card will be headlined by Jon Jones defending the Light Heavyweight Title against Dan Henderson.

**Bellator has announced that they have signed Heavyweight Brett Rogers, who will debut for the company on June 22nd against an opponent yet to be announced. Rogers was released by the Strikeforce organization in 2011 following a domestic assault charge involving Rogers and his wife. Since his release he has only had one fight, which was a split decision loss to Eddie Sanchez in September of last year for the Titan Fighting Championships.

**UFC Middleweight Nick Ring was involved in saving two victims of an attack on Wednesday night in Calgary, Alberta. Ring was leaving a Starbucks when he saw a group of ten people attacking a woman and holding the woman’s boyfriend. Ring was successful in chasing them off along with the help of a motorist, who stopped to assist. Ring caught one of the assailants and police ended up arresting seven of the ten thanks to their help. Ring will be fighting in Calgary on July 21st at the UFC 149 card against Court McGee.

**MMAFighting.com reports that Strikeforce will be announcing an August 18th date in San Diego, California headlined by Ronda Rousey Vs Sarah Kaufman for the Women’s Bantamweight Title.

**Strikeforce has added a lightweight bout between Ryan Couture and Joe Duarte to the July 14th card in Portland, Oregon. That same show is headlined by Nate Marquardt taking on Tyron Woodley for the vacant Welterweight Title.

Jose Aldo out for UFC 149 in Calgary
Image

An injury to Jose Aldo has forced a change to the main event at UFC 149 in Calgary.

The Brazilian was set to face Erik Koch in a feather-weight title bout on July 21, but he has been forced to withdraw.

The main event on the card will now be a bantam-weight title bout between Urijah Faber and Renan Barao. The Faber-Barao matchup was originally slated for UFC 148 on July 7.

Faber, who is 3-1 at 135 pounds, will face the owner of the longest unbeaten streak in mixed martial arts in Barao. The Brazilian Barao has not lost in 27 straight fights and has stormed his way to the top of the UFC's 135-pound division.

The card also awaits news of another fight to be announced after Mauricio (Shogun) Rua's bout against Thiago Silva was scratched due to an injury to Silva.

**UFC President Dana White took to Twitter after the Manny Pacquiao Vs Timothy Bradley fight on Saturday and ragged on the Nevada State Athletic Commission and called them the worst commission out there.

**The UFC confirmed on Monday that they will be holding a card in Nottingham, England on September 29th entitled ‘UFC: Nottingham’ from the Capital FM Arena. The card will feature Andy Ogle from this past season of TUF Live fighting Akira Corassani and a bantamweight bout between Brad Pickett and Yves Jabouin. The timing works out well that Dan Hardy could likely be a part of this card as the most well known native of Nottingham, though that could change if Hardy gets the nod to coach Team U.K. in the upcoming international edition of TUF featuring Team U.K. and Team Australia. The card is scheduled to air on FUEL TV.

**Strikeforce Welterweight Paul Daley has requested and been granted his release from the organization. Daley wants to fight more often and has not competed since March where he dropped a split decision to Kazuo Misaki.

**The UFC has announced that they will induct Tito Ortiz into their Hall of Fame on the weekend of July 7th to coincide with his fight against Forrest Griffin at UFC 148 that weekend at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Ortiz is going into this third bout with Griffin with a 16-10-1 record but only a 1-6-1 mark dating back to December 2006. Ortiz was one of the most important fighters when it came to the growth of the company winning the vacant Light Heavyweight Title in a fight with Wanderlei Silva in 2000 and proceeded to hold the title until September 2003 where he dropped a unification bout with interim champion Randy Couture. During the dark days of the company from 1999-2005 Ortiz was one of the few marquee names the company had, who became the poster boy for the company. One of the most important fights in UFC took place at UFC 40 in November 2002 where Ortiz stopped Ken Shamrock in a fight that did 150,000 buys on pay-per-view (the highest since Zuffa bought the company and a number that wouldn’t be matched until a February 2005 bout between Ortiz and Vitor Belfort). It was the 2002 grudge fight between Ortiz and Shamrock that proved the UFC could be a PPV commodity in its present form as there were numerous times that Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta considered selling the company. Ortiz and Shamrock would blow away that number after a successful season as coaches of TUF in 2006 where Ortiz and Shamrock fought at the conclusion of the season at UFC 61 and did an unheard of figure at the time of 775,000 buys in July of 2006 and with a controversial stoppage led to a third fight on Spike TV in October 2006 that established the UFC as a heavyweight television property where they did incredible numbers going against the MLB playoffs. Following that fight Ortiz fought Chuck Liddell in a losing effort at UFC 66 in December of 2006 in the first card that hit 1,000,000 buys for the company. The legacy of Tito Ortiz and the business he helped generate for the UFC cannot be understated and anyone looking at his record over the past six-years misses the point of what Ortiz meant to the company.

**The UFC on FX 3 card this past Friday averaged 1,100,000 viewers headlined by Demetrious Johnson Vs Ian McCall. The FUEL TV preliminary fights averaged 84,000 viewers.

**Johnson and McCall were the only fighters drug tested from this past Friday’s card and their tests came back negative.

**In an interview with Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports UFC President Dana White confirmed that the next season of TUF would revert back to a taped format and abandon the live format they adopted for their debut season on FX. White said that the live format didn’t allow them to delve enough into the stories of the fighters but if he is not happy with the next season of TUF he believes FX will allow them to move the series to either a Wednesday or Thursday night. The next season of TUF will feature all welterweights and will begin with tryouts in three-weeks for a September debut with no coaches announced yet for the series.

**Bibiano Fernandes has commented publicly that he was in negotiations with the UFC but never officially signed nor will he be fighting at UFC 149 on July 21st where he had been scheduled to fight Roland Delorme. I don’t know how this one fell through the cracks where Delorme had been contacted and agreed to the fight prior to Fernandes physically signing an UFC contract.

**Demetrious Johnson will be undergoing surgery for a hernia as early as this week and will keep him out of action for at least a month and likely postpone his Flyweight Title fight with Joseph Benavidez until after the summer.

**Brett Rogers will be fighting Kevin Asplund in his Bellator debut on June 22nd in a non-tournament bout. The same card will feature the quarter-finals of the Bellator Light Heavyweight tournament.

**The California State Athletic Commission revealed today that Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Rafael ‘Feijao’ Cavalcante tested positive for the steroid stanozolol following his win over Mike Kyle in San Jose on May 19th. The commission has handed Cavalcante a one-year suspension, $2,500 fine and will also change the fight to a ‘no contest’.

**Bellator has announced the signing of NCAA Division 1 wrestler Shawn Bunch to their bantamweight roster. Bunch has yet to have a professional fight but is training with AKA out of San Jose, California.

**MMA Weekly is reporting a bantamweight bout between Takeya Mizugaki and Jeff Hougland has been put together for UFC 151 on September 1st in Las Vegas, Nevada on the undercard of the Jon Jones Vs Dan Henderson Light Heavyweight Title bout.

**UFC Light Heavyweight Tito Ortiz didn’t show up for a court appearance this past Friday after he had filed for a restraining order against a woman named Shana Burroughs. Ortiz had alleged that Burrounds (a former friend of Jenna Jamesons’) would show up at their home with various prescription drugs and would also steal from their home. The judge through the case out after Ortiz failed to appear on Friday.

**FOX has announced that the fourth UFC special on the network will take place on December 8th. The third special takes place August 4th featuring Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua taking on Brandon Vera and Ryan Bader meets Lyoto Machida.

**Speaking of the August 4th UFC on FIX 3 card, the network will be airing a special ‘Road to the UFC’ preview special that will debut on July 29th.

**It’s a really busy weekend in MMA with two UFC events going on plus the start of the Bellator Summer Series with the kick off of their 205-pound tournament for an eventual title shot against Christian M’Pumbu. There is also a One FC event going on in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday headlined by Renato ‘Babalu’ Sobral and Tatsuya Mizuno.

**Here is the card for tonight’s UFC on FX 4 event and airing on Sportsnet in Canada along with our picks below:

MAIN CARD (airing at 9pm EST)
*Gray Maynard Vs Clay Guida
*Sam Stout Vs Spencer Fisher
*Brian Ebersole Vs TJ Waldburger
*Ross Pearson Vs Cub Swanson

PRELIMINARY CARD (airing at 6pm EST on FUEL TV)
*Hatsu Hioki Vs Ricardo Lamas
*C.J. Keith Vs Ramsey Nijem
*Brock Jardine Vs Rick Story
*Steven Siler Vs Joey Gambino
*Matt Brown Vs Luis Ramos

FACEBOOK FIGHTS (airing at 5:15pm EST on Facebook.com/UFC)
*Dan Miller Vs Ricardo Funch
*Dustin Pague Vs Ken Stone

**UFC President Dana White is in Atlantic City right now for the card tonight and is scheduled to host the post event press conference before getting on a plane with Michael Buffer to head to Belo Horizonte for the UFC 147 card tomorrow night.

**All fighters with the exception of C.J. Keith made weight for the UFC on FX card. Keith weighed in at 157-pounds for his fight with Ramsey Nijem and has been given an hour to make weight but did not so he has been fined 20% of his purse. Steven Siler looked extremely drawn from his cut and stood out the most.

**Here is the main card for the Bellator 71 event tonight in Chester, West Virginia and airing on MTV2 on Sunday night and later this weekend in Canada on The Score, the entire show will be live on YouTube and Spike.com:
*Brett Rogers Vs Kevin Asplund in a non-tournament bout
*Zelg Galesic Vs Attila Vegh in the Light Heavyweight Quarter-Finals
*Beau Tribolet Vs Tim Carpenter in the Light Heavyweight Quarter-Finals
*Emanuel Newton Vs Roy Broughton in the Light Heavyweight Quarter-Finals
*Travis Wiuff Vs Chris Davis in the Light Heavyweight Quarter-Finals

*Alistair Overeem is taking a unique approach to winning over favour from the Nevada State Athletic Commission by providing a blood test of his own to show the commission he is currently clean. Now the idea of a fighter administering a test of his own obviously has its flaws and is not going to hold much water in front of a commission but it’s Overeem trying to act in good faith and assure he is licensed at the end of the year by the commission. For what it’s worth Lorenzo Fertitta has stated that Overeem will not be fighting on the year end card in December regardless of whether he is licensed or not. Fertitta is the one dealing with Overeem from now on as Dana White has stated he doesn’t want to after Overeem lied to him.

**Dan Hardy Vs Amir Sadollah is official for the UFC card on September 29th in Nottingham, England and airing in the U.S. on FUEL TV.

**Here are the results from the UFC 147 card held Saturday night in Belo Horizonte, Brazil:
*Felipe Arantes and Milton Viera fought to a split draw (29-28, 28-29, 28-28)
*Marcos Vinicius over Wagner Campos by TKO at 1:04 of Round 3
*Thiago Perpetuo over Leonarda Mafra by TKO at 0:41 of Round 3
*Hugo Viana over John Teixeira by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
*Francisco Drinaldo over Delson Heleno by TKO at 4:21 of Round 1
*Rodrigo Damm over Anistavio Medeiros by rear-naked choke at 2:12 of Round 1
*Hacran Dias over Yuri Alcantara by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
*Fabricio Werdum over Michael Russow by TKO at 2:28 of Round 1
*Rony ‘Jason’ Mariano over Godofredo ‘Pepey’ de Oliveira by unanimous decision (29-28 all) to win the TUF Brazil Featherweight tournament
*Cezar Ferreira over Sergio Moraes by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) to win the TUF Brazil Middleweight tournament
*Rich Franklin over Wanderlei Silva by unanimous decision (49-46 all)

**YouTube had major streaming problems last night for the UFC 147 card (which you can purchase to watch live). There was an issue with the stream constantly freezing and needing to be manually refreshed and YouTube was refunding orders without any problems to those that contacted them with the problem.

**Here are the recipients of the $65,000 bonuses handed out after the show:
*Fight of the Night – Rich Franklin Vs Wanderlei Silva
*Knockout of the Night – Marcos Vinicius
*Submission of the Night – Rodrigo Damm

**UFC President Dana White spoke to Karyn Bryant on FUEL TV after the card and voiced his displeasure in the judging of the opening fight with one judge awarding a 10-8 round (was no way any of those rounds constituted a 10-8) and not one judge gave Wanderlei Silva a 10-8 round in the second. White was also not impressed with Rony ‘Jason’ Mariano’s performance and he acted like he was already a big UFC fighter before the fight. As well he has changed his stance regarding the Junior Dos Santos Vs Cain Velasquez fight stating that it will happen but is no longer targeted for Toronto in September for UFC 152.

**ESPN Magazine has announced that Strikeforce Bantamweight Champion will be a part of their annual ‘Body Issue’ and will be the only MMA representative in this year’s issue. Randy Couture, Jon Jones and Gina Carano have posed for the issue in past years.

**Both UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva have been nominated in the ‘Best Fighter’ category for ESPN’s annual ESPY Awards. The two are nominated for the award alongside Floyd Mayweather and Andre Ward.

**The Asian based ONE FC organization has announced the signings of Shinya Aoka and Bibiano Fernandes (who ultimately balked at signing with the UFC when it was considered a lock he was coming in and he announced to be fighting Roland Delorme at UFC 149 before it was revealed he had not signed). ONE FC has announced that Fernandes will fight on their August 31st card in Manila, Philippines.

**The full UFC 148 card set for July 7th in Las Vegas, Nevada has been confirmed with six fights schedule for the pay-per-view as opposed to the usual five plus four fights on the FX prelims and one Facebook fight:

MAIN CARD
*Anderson Silva Vs Chael Sonnen for the Middleweight Title
*Forrest Griffin Vs Tito Ortiz
*Patrick Cote Vs Cung Le
*Demian Maia Vs Dong Hyun Kim
*Chad Mendes Vs Cody McKenzie
*Ivan Menjivar Vs Mike Easton

PRELIMINARY CARD (airing on FX and Facebook)
*Gleison Tibau Vs Khabib Nurmagomedov
*Melvin Guillard Vs Fabricio Camoes
*Constantinos Philippou Vs Riki Fukuda
*Shane Roller Vs John Alessio
*Yoislandy Izquierdo Vs Rafaello Oliveira (airing on Facebook)

**Rogers Sportsnet’s Joe Ferraro broke the news that George Roop is injured and out of UFC 149 on July 21st (the most cursed card in history) and will be replaced by Daniel Pineda to fight Antonio Carvalho in a featherweight bout.

**In another injury related note Terry Etim has withdrawn from the August 4th UFC on FOX card in Los Angeles where he was set to fight lightweight Joe Lauzon. The announcement was made on Tuesday night’s edition of ‘UFC Tonight’ and a new replacement is being worked on for Lauzon.

**The light heavyweight bout between Nick Penner and Tom DeBlass has been taken off of the July 11th UFC on FUEL 4 card. Penner suffered an injury in training and officials from the UFC have decided against finding a replacement. That card is headlined by a middleweight bout between Mark Munoz and Chris Weidman.

**Strikeforce has added a middleweight bout between Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza and Derek Brunson for their August 18th card in San Diego, California underneath the Ronda Rousey Vs Sarah Kaufman Bantamweight Title fight.

**Jamie Varner has been tapped to take the spot of the injured Terry Etim on the August 4th UFC on FOX 4 event where he will fight Joe Lauzon. Varner pulled off a big upset at UFC 146 where he stepped in for an injured Evan Dunham to defeat Edson Barboza after Varner had largely been written off following his departure from the WEC.

**UFC Bantamweight Roland Delorme will get to fight on July 21st at UFC 149 with a new opponent in Francisco Rivera. Delorme was initially scheduled to fight the debuting Bibiano Fernandes on that card but then it was revealed Fernandes had not in fact signed with the UFC and has opted to sign with One FC. Rivera was originally scheduled to fight Ken Stone this past weekend at the Atlantic City show but had oto pull out and was replaced by Dustin Pague.

**Following his unanimous decision loss to Mike Pierce the UFC has released Carlos Eduardo Rocha.
