growing up w/o a team doesnt matter b/c you dont know what it was like to grow up w/ one. it would be different if you were like 12 when they left

People in LA show up in the second quarter and leave in the third to beat the traffic. I'm just sayin'...

the people of baltimore are not your average fans. these people were nuts for the colts and the way the team left and took their achievements with them was a crime.
Crime in Baltimore?

I'm surprised Baltimore never got another basketball team. maybe the Wizards got some sort of territorial rights after they moved.
Not that surprising since the population of Baltimore has DROPPED by over 100,000 people since 1990. But that can be blamed on the Colts leaving, I'm sure.
you might know more about the browns/modell history than me, so tell me, did modell not leave Cleavland with the browns and their history? what did baltimore get left with? no one here wanted the same thing that happened to them to happen to another old historic franchise. it really is a crime. the browns got their team back and a new stadium. baltimore got screwed and theres kids in indy wearing unitas jerseys. fuck that.
no he didn;t leave with the history. he didn't care about our history. like i said if not for the fans and the city fighting to get our team back, we still would not have a team. And you are right Baltimore got left with nothing, but what did the city do about it? why didn;t they take action? i know it was in a different time period, but still if not for Modell moving to Baltimore would Baltimore have a team as of today?
and i don;t wish upon anybody to get there team moved. It was horrible. to be so passionate about something and then get the life sucked out of you is a feeling i don;t wanna ever feel again.
Yeah, I really can't imagine why anyone would want to move away from either Baltimore OR Cleveland (which incidentally has lost over 50,000 population since 1990).

man, dont tell me what it was like growing up. i had to root for the freakin redskins!
It must have been HELL for you to HAVE TO root for the Redskins.
Wake up, kids. Teams move ALL THE TIME. They've been moving for years. I know it was 80 years bfore your birth, but are you sure you aren't still bitter about the Baltimore Orioles moving to New York in 1903?
notice since the, i swear i remember marv albert saying oj was being chased down the long island freeway during the knicks draft of 84, pd is now citing his sources?

Yeah, I seem to remember saying I stood corrected, but you can revel in being right for once since you'd have a hard time finding a cite where you were right opposed to me another time.
Anyway, back on topic (sort of):
Baseball
AL
Baltimore Orioles (1901-02) > New York Yankees (1903-present)
Philadelphia Athletics (1901-54) > Kansas City Athletics (1955-67) > Oakland Athletics (1968-present)
Milwaukee Brewers (1901) > St. Louis Browns (1902-1953) > Baltmore Orioles (1954-present)
Washington Senators (1901-60) > Minnesota Twins (1961-present)
Washington Senators (1961-71) > Texas Rangers (1972-present)
Seattle Pilots (1969) > Milwaukee Brewers (1970-present)
NL
Boston Braves (1871-1952) > Milwaukee Braves (1953-65) > Atlanta Braves (1966-present)
New York Giants (1883-1957) > San Francisco Giants (1958-present)
Brooklyn Dodgers (1883-1957) > Los Angeles Dodgers (1958-present)
Montreal Expos (1969-2004) > Washington Nationals (2005-present)
That’s 13 major moves in the modern era. I could spend the next two hours researching and writing down all of the moves in the NFL, NHL, and holy shit, the NBA!!
So y'all can quit yer bitchin!

Manning knows the passion will be dialed up Saturday when the Colts return to Baltimore. Where there was once love for the horseshoe, there is now hate. The Colts no longer have any history in Baltimore. Manning found that out in his rookie year in 1998 when the Colts returned to Baltimore for the first time since moving away.
"[Tom] Matte was doing their radio, [Johnny] Unitas was on their sideline, Lenny Moore was at the game," Manning said. "And they were there every week. That's when it hit me that we don't have a history."
