Which city has the best sports teams currently

Let's go with a 3 team minimum

Id have to go with Chicago right now.. 2 years removed from a World Series.. Playing in the super bowl this year... Bulls are the best selling team attendance wise in the NBA and playing some good ball..

I'm half with you on the "not in LA" part.

I know this isn't what you were after, but i'm going Melbourne for an unbelieveable cricket/AFL ground, a magic tennis grand slam event and some great golf courses.

the bulls are also (or at least were as of a day ago) tied for the top seed in their division. plus the cubs are going to win the world series this year. at least one of those last two statements is absolutely true.

Detroit

World Series, Stanley Cup, and NBA Finals appearances in the last few years. The Lions sell out every game, the Super Bowl came though and the Final 4 is on the way.

NYC should get an honorable mention. If not for one of the worst basketball minds on the planet, all of their teams would make the playoffs in the same year.

the red sox and patriots have a great chance to win it all every year, but the bruins and celtics suck.
B.C. competes every year (as far as national tournaments are concerned)

But as much as it pains me to say it, a city like New York, that has a chance to put winning teams against each other in the championship games of two sports has to take it. I mean, no other city has a chance at it, but a Giants/ Jets super bowl could happen, and would be rediculous. Another subway series (although it would be even more painful to get through) is pretty cool. Rangers/ Islanders is kinda bland; same with the Knicks/Nets assuming the Nets move downtown, but New York is the only city that can have all these teams. College competition obviously detracts from the city, but this debate seems like what other cities do to feel better about not being new york.

ok, i'll never say anything like this again, its been documented.

Hahaha, having the football and mens basketball champions in one university does not make the town in which the university resides in the top sports city.
