Former CIS hockey player Jarret Lukin has been handed a two year ban after testing positive for cocaine.

The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport says Lukin failed a drug test back on November 3, 2006 following a CIS hockey game involving the Calgary Dinos. Tests showed Lukin's urine contained traces of cocaine metabolites in his system.

Following a hearing before an independent arbitrator, Lukin was given a two year ban and permanent ineligibility for federal sport funding.

Lukin is currently playing hockey with the Florida Everblades of the East Coach Hockey League. In three games since joining the team last month he has one goal and two points.

Lukin played one season for the Dinos in 2005-06, scoring nine goals and 39 points in 39 games.

Prior to joining the Dinos, Lukin spent five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Kamloops Blazers and Medicine Hat Tigers.

this is the first player since Kevin Stevens and Theo Fleury that I've heard of doing coke...

except in baseball
