good luck to you, Cubbies, i'm sure things will be better than they've been. :peace:

however, you're about to lose the opportunity to play the astros on a regular basis... so that's not going to help things.

It's not so much Boston being terrible to former players. The Red Sox ownership has a history of running a smear campaign against anyone who leaves, on good terms or not.

Yeah, I could have been more clear. When I said Boston I meant the organization. Not the city. Although How many former Red Sox are beloved outside of Dwight Evans?

nomar, mo, pedro, fisk, and rice are a few that come immediately to mind that are more liked now than when they first left town.

I have never had any ill will towards Damon, they didnt even offer him a contract, I dont blame him for going to the Yankees.

I talked a whole bunch of shit about Damon when he went to the Yankees but in hindsight I was wrong.

I dont even factor how good Damon has been since he left into it(remember when people were saying that Coco Crisp was better than him?) They did not make an attempt to re-sign him, when that happens he can go wherever he wants, if it happens to be the Yankees, fine. It's one thing for a guy to leave the Sox because the Yankees offered him 100 million when the Sox offered 99, the Red Sox had no desire to bring Damon back on any deal. That guy fucking killed himself for the Red Sox and it makes me sick every time he gets booed at Fenway Park.

Yeah, my change of heart has everything to do with what he did as a member of the Red Sox and how the team didn't attempt to resign him.

Unless he can win 20 games or hit 40 HR's, Epstein won't be helping the Cubs win anytime soon.
