finally, it's here... usatoday/espn coaches' poll is released...

1 Kansas
2 Wake Forest
3 NORTH CAROLINA
4 Georgia Tech
5 Illinois
6 Syracuse
7 Connecticut
8 Oklahoma State
9 Kentucky
10 Michigan St

nice spot for the Heels... acc 3 of the top 4 (6 of top 19)... the conference is just plain sick... on a level all its own... and now with the addition of some cakewalks in miami and vatech, the acc just might get 8 teams in the tourney... 7 without a doubt....

the best time of year is upon us... college hoops... nothing better... let the debating begin...

Wake Forest is stacked, i like them to win it all. But don't forget about the best coach in the country, Tom Izzo. The Spartans return to the final 4

I like North Carolina because they are in all caps

I agree on Wake. If I had to pick someone now, I'd pick them.

Big Ten--I like Wisconsin to win the conference with 5 losses overall-and they'll get an 8 seed.

(If D. Harris had stayed, I'd honestly be picking them for National Champs and him for the Wooden)

the BEST sports season of the year. Can't wait. and it physically ails me to see UNC ranked higher than my beloved Duke.
should be a great race in the ACC, i just hope Duke can contend after all the losses they suffered from last year's squad.

Where the hell is Duke? Did Deng leaving hurt them that much?

They're like the Yankees, they always find a way to win...

Not just Deng, don't forget about Duhon and there was at least one other that left, was it Nate James? i'm pretty sure there was a JuCo transfer (i know James wasn't a transfer) that was a senior last year. they lost some pretty key players. but i agree, with Coach K on your side, they will definitely find their fair share of wins. at least they better. 8)

Because it bears repeating:

I think Tom finally has a team he can work with again. A quality point guard and some bodies down low to rebound. If State gets back to playing defense like they used to, they'll be right there until the end.

Players to watch are definatly Hakeem Warrick from Syracuse, Carmelo Anthony's no. 2 in their championship year, and had a good year last year, watch him to dominate and go in the top 10 for the NBA draft next year.

My fellow Aussie, Andrew Bogut in Utah. He played in the Olympics, and played extremely well at the Centre and the PF poisition, whatch for him to step up and really dominate the NCAA.

Georgia Tech with another aussie, who seemingly looks like Ronald McDonald, is a very good player and learning to play his position well. Remember, these guys where the runners up last year.

It is certainly a great time of the year for sports fans. I love college basketball. There's a thrill to it that you don't find anywhere else.

I go to St. Joe's, so I wouldn't mind them doing as well as they did last year (so close!), but they don't have Jameer, obviously. That would be quite a feat. If they're not going to get very far, I'd certainly go Syracuse. I'm happy to see them ranked at Number Six. I'm glad this time of the year is finally upon us! :D

Syracuse is gonna do some damage this year....Billy Edelin is cleared to play, so now we have both strong front and back courts...one of the best players (if not the best) in the nation, and the comeback kid gmac...::drools:: i can't wait

ACC=domination

ACC regular season-Georgia Tech
ACC tourney-even though I hate duke they will probably find a way to win it
NCAA tourney-Georgia Tech

GT is loaded this year, only lost 1 player (marvin lewis) and a back up that didnt play much, GT is the best team in the ACC IMO, i'm a huge fan of the heels (they just beat miami in football!!!! hahahaha) they are a little to far up that list, maybe the lower half of the top 10 is where they belong.

I'm excited for Maryland's year... we haven't really lost anything, and gained 2 great players. Big year for the turtle too

no.1 seed Kansas had a near upset game, when they just over powered Vermont. And Santa Clara beat UNC, bit disapointing by the Tar Heels.

so glad the season is on. glad UNC lost (as a Duke fan through and through  ), but i will say it looks like Duke is going to have a long conference season. they did not look good at all against Davidson the other day.
one team that has definitely impressed me this year so far is Syracuse. never been a fan of that program, but Warrik is definitely going to take that team far this year.
and what's up with Iowa? two ranked teams with a loss to them. nice, upsets rule. how have they been projected in the Big 10? not being ranked, i wouldn't think very high. anyway.
