well here we go!!

Our 4th outfielder is the ned Nancy Drew-out for the year

Brett Tomko is the 5th starter

James Loney was sent to AAA AGAIN, so some utility IF named Wilson Valdez can eat up the kids roster spot

lets go dodgers!!

the ned nancy drew? what does that mean?

loney was probably sent down because they don't have a place to play him until nomar gets hurt. it's much better to have some shitty utility guy as the 25th guy on the roster than an actual prospect who needs to be playing everyday. of course, they didn't have to acquire juan pierre and luis gonzalez..

thats the NEW nancy drew, not ned.

as far as Loney, there is literally nothing left for the kid to prove, he hit .380-something in AAA last year, he hit .414 in spring training, and management kept saying the kid had nothing left to prove.

however, they kept Matt Kemp as the 4th outfielder....a guy who clearly wasnt ready for the big leagues last year after jumping from AA in June, and who the whole organization said all spring needed more time in AAA.

this doesnt make any sense. Why not keep Loney as the 4th outfielder/backup to Nomar and let Kemp get the experience he needs and Loney already got the past 2 years? Now Loney wastes away in AAA while Kemp sits the bench and his development is stopped dead? Either way Loney probably wont be down for long, with Nomar's history and Olmedo Saenz being one french fry away from a heart attack

while we're at it, why cut Larry Bigbie as the 4th outfielder after his monster spring training after giving the guy 54 ABs? If that was the plan why didnt Matt Kemp get those at bats?

and your right, there was no need to spend all that money on Pierre/Gonzo in the first place, coulda saved all that money and kept both Kemp and Bigbie and maybe even slighty overpay Kenny Lofton for one more year

just make sure you keep Raffy off the sauce until he gets back.

This should be a great year for the dodgers. They should win the west.

well, that and you have two respectable leadoff batters (I think Furcal is a better 2 hole hitter anyway)

I thought Schimdt should have gotten the job myself, granted the way Sheets was pitching I don't think it would have mattered who he threw out there.

And I see Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel is back in effect.

i am of the belief that Jeff Kent is going to have a monster season then head off into the sunset towards Cooperstown.

he didnt hit his first HR last year until what, like May?

got the first win of the year, even if the whole team tried so hard to give it away

Schmidt didnt break 86 on the gun and didnt last past the 5th, Nomar lined into a bases loaded-1 out double play, Furcal's replacement at SS continues to be garbage, and Saito gave up 3 runs including a homer....oh and all world prospect James Loney is kinda sorta demanding a trade and talking shit about the team and Nomar....

as Vinny says..."its tiiiiiime for dodger baseball!"

its the 4th inning and I swear to god LA has grounded into 7 double plays in this game

so far Gonzo has been a huge bust. and every game Furcal misses is a killer, Ramon Martinez is a more automatic out than the pitcher spot.

so luis gonzalez needs a relay man for a throw from medium left field to second base? wow. i wonder if all three of LA's outfielders could combine to get the ball to home plate from the right centerfield corner of pac bell park.

SWEPT THE GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!

hi buggy :)

GOnzo went yard twice, Randy Wolf pitched excellently after a rough first two innings, Dodgers shut Balco Boy down, and Billingsley looked awful allowing 3 late runs, but the Dodgers scored 10 runs and sweep frisco as an early fuck you to the orange and black :)

home openner tomorrow, wish I could be there. Steve Sax is throwing out the first pitch!!
