Griffeys return. God I love this guy. I wish he would have never left, but he is still my favorite Mariner of all time.
probably the greatest non-steroid player we've seen in our lifetime while in his prime.
pre-steroids Bonds was better.
And I don't understand the whole lovefest for Griffey. He basically fucked Seattle when he insisted on being traded for the Reds.

Weaver does it again. PLEASE TRADE HIM NOW AND GET SOMETHING.
Detroit will give you a coupon for 5% off any Little Ceasar's medium pizza with 2 toppings (offer good until June 30) for Weaver and 100% of his salary so he can retire a Tiger. Do we have a trade?

Just curious, but how can you definitely say he's a "non-steroid player?"
his stats never hit the roof during the whole steroid era. His body didn't change much, his head didn't get huge, his arms didn't get huge and his neck didn't look like a 15 year old that didn't wash his face.

He left partially because ownership never made the big trade to bring help in when it was needed. Pat Gillick never had the balls to put the team over the top.

bear with me here, but if all this happened cause of roids, and a player has been off of roids, wouldnt you think he'd shrink back to normal?

Well, (1) his body and head have changed:
vs.
and (2) he has suspiciously suffered an enormous rash of injuries over the past 7 or 8 years.
I'm not saying that he did or didn't take steroids or HGH. What I am saying, though, is that with any player during this era, you can't say for certain one way or another.

That top pic is when he was 18 or 19. Most people change over the 10-15 years after that. I know I am bigger and stronger then when i was 18 and I didn't take steroids.
As for the injuries he has had a lot, but he also puts his body out there more then most do and takes more risks.

But your head stayed the same size, didn't it?
With age, people's heads don't grow. You gain muscle, but not bone mass. HGH will do that. Steroids then add the muscle.

I'm as skeptical as anyone but if we find out Griffey did steroids i'm gonna be shocked.
Anyway, how bout sweeping the Sox! Most underrated team in the league right now. I was watching PTI the other day and Wilbon was talking about Griffey possibly getting traded to the Mariners cause they love him so much. So Wilbon says basically that the Mariners are irrelevant so why would Griffey go there. In your face douche! Only 5 back of the reeling Angels and 2 back of Cleveland in the Wild Card. Biggest surprise of the year so far, go M's.

I don't know why, but this team reminds me of all those Milwaukee Brewers teams from the past that traditionally started out very strongly, only to fade after the All-Star break. I know that this particular Mariners team has left a lot of people scratching their heads -- heck, they were supposed to finish in the basement.
But on the other hand, if their starting pitching holds up, I don't necessarily see them fading. Their lineup is solid, particularly with Beltran and Sexton finally doing something. Their bullpen is good. I'd like to see someone give the Angels a run for the West.
