I like this team. Ozzie will say something stupid and inappropriate at least a dozen times, Kenny Williams will find a way to say that beurhle, dye, and crede will not be back next year, Hawk Harrelson will say that this is the best team he has ever seen in his 90 years in baseball, DJ will say nothing coherent or worth while the whole season, Peirzynski will bitch about Toby Hall getting more than 50 at bats, Joey Cora will surely use a kung fu kick when nobodys looking during a bench clearing brawl, Uribe will be summoned to the Domincan Republic for murder, Brian Anderson will definately be hungover for at least 50 games, and last but not least, Scott Podsednik will only be valued for being the guy who has the hottest wife in sports.

Wow. Its funny how much more offensive this term is when someone is acutally gay.

So they signed Javier Vasquez to a contract extension worth the same amount that they offered Buerle last year? That's somewhat of a slap in the face Buerle. Consider him gone.

Knowing the sox, they are probably doing this so it would be easier for them to trade him, considering what the going rate for pitchers are right now, it would be a bargain if Vazques can be even a little better than he was last year.
Buerhle is hasta la bye bye, unless they give him a four year deal which they dont do anymore..........Thanks Jaime Navarro

Reports say that buerhle and his agent have given a 3 year and 4 year contract proposal to Kenny Williams.

Any word on how much he's seeking? It's got to be in the $15 million range.

i have no idea, i cant imagine it being that much since buehrle turned down an "offer" from Kenny during last spring, and I guarantee Kenny didn't offer him that much.
If there is anyone the sox would give a 4 year contract it would have to buerhle. He hasn't had any arm problems in the past and he doesnt rely on a 95 mph fastball.

I don't understand. With today's market, and considering that he turned down a lower number last year, why wouldn't Buerle seek as much as $15 million a year?

Because Kenny has made it clear that he is not going to pay pitchers market value. Now, seeing what Vazquez got, im thinking buerhle and his agent wouldnt mind somthing a little more than that.
If you are right, and they are commanding 15 mil, i think it would be a waste of time. Thats why i think they're not.

I can't really think that Buerle is going to ask for less than he thinks he can get from St. Louis next year. If my agent did that, he would be fired next day.
