Perhaps, if you completely ignore declining numbers and age for one player and major surgery for another, and the fact that it would probably take a lot in assumed salaries and at least 2 high-level, major-league-ready-level prospects.

Ervin Santana's value has dropped significantly, he doesn't have that much more value than Crede, and if Crede proves himself in spring training that he is healthy, they are pretty much even. And I think Konerko has higher value than Figgins, you may have to throw a mid level prospect in there but i definitely think it could happen.

To Anaheim i think so. I think that would make that a Figgins for Konerko swap. And Santana certainly has little or no value to them.

I'm not sure. I'm just shocked because (1) everyone assumed Martinez would get the job, and (2) Venture came out of nowhere. Sports radio in Chicago has been lit up all afternoon with this announcement.
