Saw this movie a couple of months ago and really liked it. Figured i'd get the book and read the real story. Turned out to be one of the best/emotional books I've ever read. I like to watch golf and play it but i'm not a nut about it, especially when it comes to the history of the sport(or game). However, this book really throws you into a pivotal point of the history and increased exposure of the sport and goes into a sick amount of detail about interesting stuff and how the sport evolved. Anyway, you don't have to be much of a golf fan to enjoy this book. It really blew me away and even put me in a great mood the last couple of days while i was reading it. Truly an amazing story and the writer does a great job of putting it all together.

Shit, Clubber, I thought we became athletes so we didn't have to read books.

I'll have to pick it up. I enjoyed the movie.

I had no cable for 3 days so i bought a bunch of books. Read "Alive" about the people who had to eat dead human flesh to survive and then tore into this book.

I only have seen the movie once(Greatest Game) but really liked it. I think Bill Paxton directed it. Was really curious about the "real" story and figured i'd get the book. I can't get enough of sports biographies/stories but i never thought i'd like a golf one so much. Probably the best sports book i've read since i read Friday Night Lights about 5 years ago

Nice review Clubber... I'm not a big golf fan at all, and I've only ever golfed a handfull of times in my life, but you just made me seriously consider making this my next book purchase.

are you serious? I thought my review sucked. I wanted to edit it like 80 times being a journalism grad. I'm an awful writer. You won't regret reading it anyway.

Well I'm not talking grammatically or word choice or any of that important journalism stuff (I'm a journalism grad too, haha) but I mean what you had to say about it. Just based on content, I want to read the book.

You sat behind Tony Banks in your journalism classes and we're too distracted to pay attention, weren't you?

Ahhh, so you then proceeded to leave class to find him, and instead settled for his sloppy seconds, right?
