so i left work at about 530 and made it downtown and parked by 610, not to bad time wise. i was set to meet my brother, cousin and friend and still another cousin at the Steelhead (same place i was to meet up with shitz and sara for PJ). the weather was chilly but better than it has been, and the penguin banners were raised everywhere.

my buddy still hadnt left the northside yet so we left without him. as my cousin and i were walking across, i saw a kid walking right in front of us and i told my cousin that has to be the youngest stahl. the resemblence is uncanny, plus the girl who he was with was flat out incredible. i reached down to grab my phone to snap a pic but they were gone.

as im walking a scalper comes up to me and says, big man, need a ticket, the first thing i thought of was, no i dont dark man, but figured id get my ass beat so i just kept walking to the arena.

just before the start of the first period i see some kid walking up the aisle and my first reaction is good lord, id kill myself if i looked like that. then i noticed who it was, and it was actually my old goalie who went to a different team and i actually went after in the last game of my deck hockey career


i dont think you can really see them here, but they are the two guys next to the two gals. during intermission i went up to talk to them but where gone. i almost asked the two lovelys if they knew where that lovely gay couple went to, but spike already accused me of cockblocking this week

i was there a good 45 minutes before the game and this is what the arena looked like then


the trib was giving away free pen towels and those things were getting waved all the time. i dont know if they made them take it down or not, but along the railing there was a homemade sign, eavves dropping, with a stick figure on his back and his head seperated with blood gushing. poor taste? ya. funny? tee hee



the introductions were very nice with the light show



and as i mentioned earlier about the youngest stahl (rumored to be the best of the bunch) sure enough he was only a few seats ahead of us and was interviewed by some sports show, couldnt tell who it was. he is about 5 rows infront of crosby there

anyway, the only complaint i have about the game was the incredibly fluky goal ottawa scored to open the game. the puck must went 8 feet over fluerys head on a bounce and noone knew where it was until it tapped the back of the net.

ok, i take it back, two complaints.

as most of you know, i get annoyed by people easily and the homer pen fans are no different. i swear, the kid behind me must have had a heckling refs/home team for dummies cliff notes, cause this kid used every fucking conceivable cliche possible

hey, i remember all last season for the Sabres when I could go to the arena just before the game started and buy a ticket for almost any game (save toronto games). Now you need to know someone who has seasons to go to a game

don;t worry i hate the sabres also. Although i do want them to beat the shit out of the Islanders, because those fans are the scum of the earth.
