Long ass shot...
Any fans? I know It's very much a regional sport, and a pretty big deal in Canada (where the league gets the bulk of its players from).
I was actually talked into getting season tickets even though I've never attended a game. The Philadelphia Wings were the league's greatest dynasty in the 90s, but it's been some time since they've been able to achieve that former glory. I like lax, it's good by me. From what I've seen and heard, there's an interesting energy at the games. They actually play music the whole time, which is pretty cool.
NLL season begins tomorrow night. They actually stream every game of the season online for free. Not bad.
If you clicked on this thread for the fuck of it, you might learn that your area has a team by looking at the pre-season rankings...
1. Calgary Roughnecks 2. Buffalo Bandits 3. Rochester Knighthawks 4. Boston Blazers 5. Orlando Titans 6. Edmonton Rush 7. Toronto Rock 8. Washington Stealth 9. Colorado Mammoth 10. Minnesota Swarm 11. Philadelphia Wings
i went to a blazers game centuries ago. my varsity coach in HS was a former blazer middie.
i think the talent level has been depleted b/c of the MLL.

blazers started up again last year after a long period of absence. i don't think their attendance was too good but i expect it to go up since their team is.
i'm not sure how great of a factor the mll has been. i was reading something yesterday saying that a lot of markets that have high-profile college teams haven't been as accepting of the indoor game.
blazers vs. wings three times this year. bos vs. philly shit-talk thread?

i have a couple friends in the MLL, one of which started in the NLL, and he said it was all canucks looking to scrap and doctored heads.

I love watching lacrosse. I wish it was a more popular sport capable of supporting a decent pro league. The NCAA tourney is always good TV though. The championship game last year was actually one of the most exciting sporting events I've ever watched.

I watch the Colorado Mammoth from time to time. Their going to suck this year, they're full of youngsters
Started off 0-2 and already their coach got fired. They're coming to Philly on Saturday. I read a cool tidbit about the Mammoth in a blog story about league expansion:
The Colorado Mammoth orchestrated the ultimate cross-promotional and marketing tactic in their inaugural season. After a Colorado Avalanche game the turf lacrosse floor was installed within an hour, during that time fans were treated to great deals on hotdogs and beer, remaining fans were treated to a National Lacrosse League game creating an instant fan base that is still one of the best atmospheres in the NLL today.
Pretty much been one of the greatest success stories in league history. They were second in attendance last year, averaging 16,475. Props to the Denver fans.
Went to my first game on Saturday. It was fun, I'm looking forward to going again. I feel like a vast majority of the people have been season ticket holders for years. For lack of TV timeouts and whatnot, the pace is much faster than other sports. It was pretty sweet, got done at 9:00 and hit up some places in South Philly...made for a great Saturday night.

Yeah Box LAX is fucking fast.
and that was crazy with Avalanche game at 1pm then the Mammoth at 7pm, then the next day it was the Nuggets and Jazz at 7pm, then last night back to the Avalanche game at 7pm.
Fucking I admire the work ability of the arena change over crew
your mammoth certainly kept it interesting this weekend - two wins in OT
i was at their game in philly ofcourse. awesome game, but a real tough break for the wings. their schedule's not gonna get easier than a tired mammoth.
toronto beat rochester 17-3 last night ...that's gotta be a record blowout, or at least close to one. maybe the rock's for real - 3-0 now.
they are, but they got their first win....which gives them as many as philly has not sure when tavares is coming back, but the bandits are obviously hurt without him. updated standings after week 4:
East 1. Toronto Rock (3-1) 2. Orlando Titans (2-1) 3. Rochester Knighthawks (3-2) 4. Boston Blazers (2-3) 5. Philadelphia Wings (1-3) 6. Buffalo Bandits (1-4)
