I wondered the same thing. I guess it doesn't matter ultimately. He'll get 30-35 starts and they'll win 25-28 of them.

I don't care what kind of allegiance Gardenhire has developed with Radke over 10 years. You're supposed to put up your best pitcher against their best. Moyer v. Santana. Yesterday was a freaking joke.

Radke actually pitched okay. Two mistakes up in the zone against Sexson... ballgame. Santana probably would have blown him away.

Eh, Moyer's not really the best Seattle has to offer either, but meh.

who said you were supposed to start the best on opening day?

santana would have been going on 3 days rest, they gave him full rest.

Piniero was hurt in the spring, and Meche is shaky (went down to the minors for a bit last season), so I'm saying Moyer was probably their best bet as the #1 starter.

but whatever, nobody else has Santana, so the rest of the AL can pretty much put up anybody and Twins fans can still talk a little smack.
