Bills sign Moorman to extension By Allen Wilson - News Sports Reporter Updated: 07/02/07 1:18 PM
Brian Moorman's continued success as the Buffalo Bills' punter was rewarded once again Monday as he signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him with the team through 2012.
Financial terms were not available, but Moorman's agent, Paul R. Sheehy, said the deal makes Moorman one of the highest paid punters in the NFL.
Moorman, 31, has been named All-Pro and played in the Pro Bowl each of the past two seasons. In 2006, he fell short of becoming the first player to average 40 net yards per punt since it became an official statistic in 1976, but his 39.2-yard average ranked second in the league and was the fifth best post-1976 figure. He also ranked second in the NFL with a team-record 33 punts inside the 20-yard line.
Moorman, entering his seventh season with the Bills, is the team's all-time leader in gross punting average at 43.47 yards per punt.
At least the Bills re-sign their best players.
