how was it formed?

i have been with the same group of people now for 10 years. we all met in the espn chatroom (basketball) and first did the fantasy basketball league. i drafted, kidd, mourning, mcdyees, theo ratliff and i think reggie miller. i totally dominated that league. then we moved on to what was our first year of the football that is affectionately known as the moses moreano draft. i was given moses instead of allowed to make my own pick cause i was at work and had no access to a computer

we have one lady in NYC, a husband and wife in Seattle, a lawyer in Michigan, an Account executive in Utah and one in Georgia, a military specialist from New Mexico or Arizona, a draft engineer from ohio, the draft engineers brother, a Computer consultant from philly, some new guy from last year when someone had to drop out, and myself

ive been runner up two years, and won it once two years ago

a bunch of guys that have (Bills) season tickets with me and a few from work to round it out to 12.

One guy has won it the past 3 years, which happens to be since the start of the league

our league as a whole has agreed, that although the season is what makes the league, the trash talk leading up to, during and after the draft is the best part

trash talk is 70% of the reason i check my team daily at least 10 times

I used to agree with that until 2 years ago, we had over 1000 posts before the draft, nearly all of them trash talk. Feelings were hurt, it became like soap opera drama hour and a few friendships were broken becuase of it. I know ridiculous.

thats why you should draft in person, there's nevery any shortage of shit talking.

one of the guys in my league owns a pizza shop, so for the past 4 years we've done the draft there after it closed and grub for free, i love draft night.

Last year sucked. I led the league in points, by about 400 (out of a top of 2400), and I lsot the 1st round.
The year before I lost the SB by 6 points because I forgot to start Isaac Bruce instead of an injured player (Hey it was xmas )

Our leage is the "Who Dey League." It was started by a bunch of Bengals fans. It is usually the same ten guys and every year we seem to have one or two new people to get to 12. This will be the sixth year. I won my first Who Dey League Championship last year with Larry Johnson, Tom Brady, Plaxico Burress, Lee Evans and Baltimore's Defense being my main studs. I started Jon Kitna instead of Brady in week 17 and he threw for 5 TDs against the Cowboys and sealed the victory. Our draft is over Labor Day every year and it is definitely the highlight of the season.

I'm going into the fourth year of a league with a bunch of guys I went to college with. The first year I made a run deep into the playoffs (championship or semis...can't remember), but have been near the bottom of the league since. It's a fun group of ten guys in the league, but we aren't into football as much as our baseball league and we only get together to draft live for baseball, which is one of the few times all year I get to see them all so it's been a good way to keep in touch.

The trash talk in our league is some of the nastiest stuff I've ever read. It gets ugly.

Our league has been going for about 10 years. it used to be the Cape Cod sportswriters league, but several of the writers left and were replaced by other newspaper staff from various outlets, and some friends were let in, but the seven or eight of the original 12 are still in and we've been drafting in-person, usually at a bar, forever. I've won it twice, but last year was second to last, so I have the number two pick, but since it's a keeper league (you're allowed to keep one guy from the previous year's roster, but not the same guy two years in a row) I'm not going to have a shot Tomlinson, but Larry Johnson might be on the board, we'll see.

We trash talk through email, one guy is a huge Cowboys fan and we constantly rag on him. I sent out this picture last week to everyone just to taunt him.
