Not sure if we had one of these before, but I thought it would be fun to have a thread where you could just talk mad smack about teams you hate or are about to play. Kinda like B's "anti-michigan" thread, but for all sports and such.

Honestly, why does WVU think its so sweet cuz they burn a few couches? I think I'm going to open a furniture store in Morgantown. Business there would be ludicrous!!!

I really don't think it actually happens that often. It's more of a joke than anything. It started in '03 when we knocked off a highly ranked VT team (who was our biggest rival at the time) here in Morgantown. The students went nuts and decided to light some shit on fire. It made national news and then the jokes on sportscenter followed. Now it's like WVU's "thing" even though I'm not sure it's even happened since then.

Pffft, couches on front porches in East Lansing were banned in the late 90s because city officials were worried they'd be set on fire. And this came to be due to a riot after a romp over Western Michigan who we were favored to beat by like 3 TDs. You guys aren't even original.

I'm just telling you what I know. I was only a casual fan for years, just going to the bowl games and such, so what happened back in the day I wouldn't know anything about. I just know in '03 was when it was made a big deal.
