Bad news for the Rockets:
HOUSTON (Ticker) - Houston Rockets All-Star Yao Ming will miss the rest of the season with a stress fracture in his left foot, according to a published report Tuesday.
The Houston Chronicle is reporting on its web site that Yao’s condition was confirmed after he was examined at the Memorial Hermann Hospital on Monday.
The Rockets have called a media briefing for 1:00 p.m. local time to announce the diagnosis.
Yao played in Sunday’s 110-97 win over the Chicago on Sunday, collecting 12 points and six rebounds in 36 minutes of action as the Rockets won their 12th consecutive game.
The 7-6 Chinese center is averaging 22.0 points and 10.8 rebounds per game this season.
this is becoming an annual thing for Ming. I hope he doesn't end up like Bill Walton. Stress fractures suck...

yes, I too hope Yao doesnt wind up an overrated old burnt out hippie who hates the knicks
watch Isiah trade our draft pick for him. We'll get to watch him 25 games a year...

absolutely
just ask Kurt Thomas, Spree, and Camby how great the knicks foot doctor is
not to mention the idiot that sent Jared Jeffries out to play with a sprained wrist in a preseason game. Or the jackass who signed off on the Dice trade....or Crawford's shoulder from last year, or David Lee's mysterious "leg bruise". Some of the best hospitals in the country are in and around NYC...and the Knicks have a team of quacks running the show.

On the bright side, it's nothing new, as him and T-Mac have traded inury stints every season. Difference is the team was starting to work well together and with Adelman. I was coming around on the trade too, but we might be missing Bonzi a lot more now. The big question is how much slack T-Mac can pick up and for how long. He always seems to bog down when he pushes himself too hard cause no one else is stepping up. This is the best team he's had since coming here though. I think Houston takes this in stride, and sneaks into the playoffs anyway. As long as it's not the fuckin Jizz in the first round, it's all good.

Well, one more anyways... Maybe now we won't see a 50-win team miss the playoffs...
so both of you are really going to dismiss Houston that quickly? they've rolled almost everyone in '08, and most of that was NOT because of Yao Ming.
That's a solid 20/10 guy they're losing, and someone who forces people to adjust their defense. The Rockets were still probably not even a top four team in the West even with Yao, and in this close a conference, it's going to be tough for them not to fall out. They're only three games ahead of Denver right now, even with their winning streak.

I still think that they will make the playoffs but there go's another year were they dont get out of the first round
and they just keep on winning. next game with the Hornets is another huge one. need to get as many victories in before the west coast trek that's coming up.
