I'm still not convinced that going for Tannehill instead of making a move for RG III was the right move, but at least Tannehill doesn't suck completely, which is what i was half expecting
A 2nd is good value for him. 5 picks in the first 3 rounds so far. Not bad. I'd send Dansby right out the door behind him if anybody wants to give up a pick or two.

It's odd that Ireland would risk trading away players like Marshall and Davis for future draft picks while knowing damn well that he's on the hottest of GM hot seats. If the Dolphins suck badly this year, he may not get a chance to use those future draft picks.
I gotta think he's (unfortunately) been assured he'll be back no matter what, because this isn't a football team that has very many wins in it.

Watching Ireland tell Vontae he was traded was one of the most surreal, awkward, and sad things I've ever seen in my life.
Also, this team will be lucky to win 4 games this year. Hopefully, this doesn't shatter Tannehill's confidence. Honestly, at this point he doesn't make the top 5 of biggest concerns heading into the season.

At least they held it together pretty well for almost a full half.

If you only count the first 28 minutes and then the last 30 minutes, the Dolphins won on Sunday 10-9.
1-0

Your guys plastered the Raiders last year, right? No reason why you can't do it again this year.
Green Habit Seal of Approval. Regardless of the score the game has already been certified as a Dolphins win.
2-0

The Miami Dolphins are on the verge of hiring Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh to be their next head coach, according to multiple sources.

The team has yet to fire current head coach Tony Sparano, however, multiple sources within the Dolphins organization said the firing appears imminent and that several assistant coaches have already left the staff as of Thursday morning.
Dolphins officials declined comment.
The San Francisco 49ers have “lost Harbaugh” in the past two days after believing they could strike a deal, according to sources within that organization. Harbaugh interviewed with 49ers owner Jed York and new general manager Trent Baalke earlier this week.
The 49ers were shifting their attention to former Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick and other candidates as of midday Thursday, a source said.
Harbaugh is one of the hottest NFL job candidates after posting a 12-1 season at Stanford that culminated with an Orange Bowl victory on Monday. He’s 29-21 in four seasons at the Pac-10 school.
Sparano, who has a year left on his contract, is 25-23 in three seasons. The Dolphins finished 7-9 this season, and were 1-7 at home.

Schefter also reports that 49ers are most likely moving on from him.

i just petitioned roger goodell that each of the patriots' two additional games in an 18 game season should be played against the dolphins

What a great win. No pass defense whatsoever. Jake Long must be hurt, but he's playing terribly.
But run blocking and rushing has been great. Tannehill looked very solid. Rolled him out, good game plan. Great run defense again. Awesome day.
