Have you prepared yourself for the somewhat unlikely scenario of Peyton signing with the Jets?
I could never be truly prepared for that. But I have thought about that revolting scenario. I'm hoping the Jets recent in house turmoil will be enough of a turn off that he wouldn't even consider it.
If Peyton had declared after his junior year in college, he would have been a Jet. Can you imagine him playing under Bill Parcells, and after that, perhaps Bill Belichick?
Ugh.

I was thinking about something the other day. Even if he's say...80% on the arm strength, you still have one of the greatest on-field tacticians ever on your team, so you're pretty much always going to be checked into the right play. If you have a team with a good O-line this could lead to a lot of nice rushing plays and he could still hit most of the short/medium touch passes even if he can't zing deep outs and shit like that. In other words, you could still win a lot of games with semi-washed up Peyton Manning. I think the Chiefs should go after him. If Jamaal Charles/Moeaki come back healthy that's a pretty nice group of weapons.

yeah i'd love to see miami indulge their fetish for noodle-armed has-beens from AFC competitors
You've said this before, but I don't think I believe you. As a Pats fan focused only on winning why would you want Manning in the division when the other options are Matt Moore, Flynn, RG3 for a king's ransom, or drafting a guy like Tannehill too high? Even if you think he's done, Manning should give you more concern than any of the other scenarios.

Our local news stations have helicopters following the van Manning is in as he's stuck in traffic on the 836. Pandemonium I tell you.

i think now would be a good time for Andrew Luck's dad to pull an Archie/Elway/J.D.Drew/Lindros and make it known that he won't play for a shit-bum town like Indy. And force them to trade the #1 pick.

I mean, Peyton's head is big enough, team.
Then the Colts just take RGIII. Rivers was highly regarded, but not the way RGIII seems to be. Luck has no leverage.

You really love the Peyton has a big head jokes, huh?

if it doesn't give him a competitive advantage, why does he have it?
My off-the-charts excitement is tempered only by my fear that we're going to be like NY was in the LeBron sweepstakes. Everybody down here is 1000% convinced that he's coming here and that's it a done deal. Overconfidence makes me nervous.

What a disaster this is shaping up to be. Please no Matt Flynn.

I've cooled on Flynn but with RG III being snapped up, he's by far the best option out there...
We have no good options. Adam Schefter is speculating that if Miami doesn't get Flynn they'd trade up to #3 to take Tannehill. Good God man. The only good things I can say about signing Flynn is that it would stop them from doing something retarded like that and it shouldn't cost Kevin Kolb money to get him like it seemed like it might a week ago.
With the Marshall trade we are clearly in rebuilding mode. Happy 4th place for years to come.

I think Flynn could be a very good QB, and I'd much rather invest in him than in Manning's neck
of course, I'd rather we just did what Washington did and trade up for RG III
if they trade up to #3 to take Tannehill, I don't get it, other than they're morons...and if they're rebuilding, why the defensive signings today? if you're gonna suck, then suck
