i know. i've talked myself off the ledge since that post. i still hate that we're taking a jet. it's hard to swallow. but it is an upgrade, and it does mean no mccown. so that is good. but henne and beck better be ready to go, because something tells me pennington may go down a few times.

There is no reason not to like this move.

Talk on sports radio is that Beck won't play tonight and we're shopping him for a 4th or 5th round pick.

So Beck started lol. Didn't look bad, didn't look that great either. Ricky Williams looked great though, definitely the highlight of the night.

got this from the uniwatch blog, Paul Lukas who writes for ESPN.com:

Potentially disturbing news from Jerime Wargo, who writes: “My friend’s brother works for Reebok. He’s in production, not design, so I usually don’t get any design info from him that I haven’t seen somewhere else first. But this afternoon the following nugget was passed along to me: ‘So, word in Reebok/Adidas world is that the Miami Dolphins contacted them today to totally reimage them. We’re talking new logo, new color scheme, and new uniforms. Why? Because, according to their front office, they want to be “tough,” and unfortunately orange and teal don’t go along with tough.’ It seems to me this is bound to end in disaster.” It also sounds like yet another reason (as if any were needed) to hate Bill Parcells. …

are you fucking kidding me?

I can picture Parcells watching Any Given Sunday and calling a meeting the next morning

this would be the final nail in the coffin for me too....cant Dan Marino put a stop to this?

Couple things here.

-What the fuck is the Dolphins owner doing in all this? Historic franchises like Oakland, GB, Dallas etc... all have owners that would never let that "reimaging" shit happen in a million years. I would put in the Fins in that historic category. Your uni is like your franchise's face, and I've always liked the Fins' color scheme. The "unthreatening" color scheme seemed to work for Shula. Why can't the owner stand up to BP on something like this? Or does he even care anymore?

-What's meant by another reason to hate BP? Has he made a bunch of questionable moves? Aside from signing every Cowboys castoff he can get his hands on, it seemed to me like he's strung together a number of solid personnel moves. Plus, Ireland is an effing stud in player scouting and development.

-If he's healthy, Pennington is a million times better than anybody else on the roster. Josh McCown is freaking awful. His career QB Rating is almost as low as Joey Harrington's.

Hmmm...I've actually wanted us to change our uniforms. But just slightly, nothing drastic. Basically I want them to go back to a more classic font for the numbers, I'm not a big fan of the blue shadow behind the numbers. Loved it when it came out, but really can't stand it now. But a total overhaul? Come on. How do you change us from teal and orange!? We're the friggin DOLPHINS! Who cares about "tough"?? It's not like its so pansy looking as a winking pirate with a blade in his mouth. What's tough about a star? Or a circle with "SF" in it? Or "NY"? Or even that Patriot face? Seemed to work well for those teams throughout the years. If we think uniforms are going to be our source of intimidation, we are in big trouble.

There are some teams who should just be mandated by their league: You cannot make anything more than a minor tweak here or there to your unis, and no third unis!

this is the only major flaw of the fins uniform. the shadow looks terrible. do away with that, and its perfection. that and the orange 3rd jersey!

the Rams did the same thing in 2000. They changed from one of the coolest uniforms ever to the spaceman thing they wear now.

If there is one thing I just don't understand in sports, it's why so many damn teams shifted from yellow to gold in their unis. Rams, Penguins, Idaho Vandals, they all look awful.

The gold I don't mind but the pants they wore last season with the double stripes are hideous.
