Seriously. I was born in 1985 and pretty much grew up with this acceptance that Boston teams simply don't win championships anymore.

I remember UMass winning the Div II football championship in like 98 and thinking this is my first local sports title.

especially when the Bs were in the finals in '88 & '90 and lost to edmonton both times.

that '86 red sox season would have been nice too... but yeah, the '90s were pretty bleak.
