That boy is our last hope...

Every heard of #5 that plays for the Cardinals?

I'm a Yankees (after the Tigers) but Fuck A-Rod. And Bonds.

In A-Rod's last 11 seasons he has hit 459 homers—an average of 41.7 per season. If he keeps up that pace for seven more years, he will sit at exactly 756 home runs. He would also be 38 years old.

If Pujols stays healthy and keeps up his pace for another decade, he would still only have 667 home runs. If he can keep up his current pace (roughly the same as A-Rod's) for 12 more seasons, he will be on the doorstep of 755 and 39 years old.

i suppose he doesn't have THAT much of a better shot. a-rod's just ahead of the curve.

Plus, there's no telling how old Pujols actually is.

A-Rod could be on the verge of a magical season.... its amazing what a player will do when they want a new deal.

I hope he hits well all season .. ive been hard on him myself i wont even lie, but this man is going to hit 800 homers if he stays healthy and hopefully in a yankee uniform.

A-Rod has started this season off magically, and I'd love to see him or Pujols or any other respectable player get the HR record back if Bonds breaks it. However, speaking as a Yankees fan, not until A-Rod does something productive in October is he really going to earn my appreciation.

well, he'll probably be on a team other than the Yankees next year...

It is great to see him get off to such a good start. I am one of the Yankee fans that are not all over him, I think he has done plenty, though a few hits in october would be nice. He is a wierdo occasionally but he is our wierdo

Both chicago baseball teams might have a real shot to get him if he files next year. Kenny Williams has had a hard on for ARod of the last 10 years. And the Cubs for obvious reasons. Peniella is apparently like a father to him.

supposedly the Cubs may not have enough $$ to sign him (he'll be looking for around $20M per year) AND Zamabrano....so it may just be the White Sox. There will probably be at least 4-5 more teams in the running - not a lot, but enough to create a market for him.

yeah, I wish there was a way to keep him - but I don't think it's going to happen.

I can't see the Yankees doing any kind of renegotiation to keep him, it would not make sense. Amazing how Texas can get off the hook if he voids.

you know Hicks is probably whispering in Boras's ear that he'll help him out down the road if he opts out.

I am an avid Yankee hater, so I'm enjoying every moment of A-Rod doing great. I had to hear so many times how much they hate A-Rod, saying things like "if hes on the team next year, I'm not a fan" (yeah right to that one btw.)

Go A-Rod. I hope he hits 50 or 60, but the Yankees miss the playoffs because they can't outpitch the Royals. I love seeing all that money not bring back any rewards. Its a beautiful thing. :)

I didn't even think about that! Should be interesting. If he has a great year he will have tons of options and if he has a sub par year, the the Arod-Hater-Yankee-Fans will drive him out
