...I am hopeful that the guys who didn't cheat are not associated with those who did. 20 years from now, I can see this happening two ways....and let's take my favorite player Ken Griffey Jr. as the example. Here's a guy who dominated for a decade, places in the top 10 in career homers, and has won multiple gold gloves:
Scenario 1: "Ahh...Griffey played during the steroid era. None of those stats should count because the game was so tainted."
Scenario 2: "Griffey truly was one of the greatest players of all time. Sure, he played during the steroid era...but we know he wasn't a user and in fact his numbers are even MORE impressive when you consider that half the guys he was playing against (including pitchers) had an unfair advantage against him and yet he STILL dominated. In a time when half the players cheated by using steroids, Griffey was true to the game and stood head & shoulders above the rest."
This can apply to other players such as Frank Thomas, etc. I'm really hoping that when we look back on this, baseball fans largely (if not overwhelmingly) side with Scenario 2.

I don't think Griffey used steroids although i wouldn't be shocked if it came out that he did. He seemed to grow into his body normally. Maybe i'm just being naive cause he was my favorite player for awhile when he was on Seattle. Now i know how Bonds' fans feel........wait, no i don't...they're fucking morons

As much as I thought Roger Clemens was a real douchbag since 1997, and really didn't like him much in his later years, I can't deny that when I was a wee lad in the early 90s he was one of my favorite baseball players. Him being named didn't surprise me at all, and it doesnt bother me that much becaue I really didnt like him the last 10 years, but it still sucks having one of your childhood heros come out as a cheater.

I Junior.
Griffey is a badass, and the injuries to me support that he didn't cheat and of course his numbers would go down after numerous injuries and the natural wear and tear of playing regardless of whether testing started or not.
And come on no one was suprised about Roger Clemens, he was one of the first people I thought of when they said some big name players were on the Mitchell Report.
