It just started yesterday.
In the men's single, the three leaders (Federer, Nadal and Djokovic) will be tough to beat and of course, Nadal is by far the favorite.
The women's single is far more open as Justine Henin has just quit the competition.
No surprise for the first day though, apart from Gasquet's forfeit but he wasn't going to be a real threat for any of the top ten players.

It's been rain delay for over three hours now, so maybe that's why.

Is the French Open ever not at Roland Garros?

Nadal is too short for my liking, thinking about backing the fed, and then hedging on nadal once there in the final

New Zealand girl about to make the second row. Sad, but that is huge for us.

New Zealanders play tennis? Then again i can't say much given the state of tennis in Australia at the moment. The Kiwis cost me a bit of money the other day, how does Vettori not run through the Poms on that pitch!?

Just saw an amazing game : Chardy (fr) vs Almagro (sp). Loads of winners, aces... Almagro has won and this guy would be certainly going far in the tournament if he wasn't to play against Nadal in the 1/4finals for his next match.

The Nadal/Verdasco match was broadcasted in HD today (4th round). You can tell these clay courts are very physically demanding.

I would love to see Ana Ivanovic win this.

Because she's a good player.

I was actually just there last Thursday. Despite being shortened by rain, the day wasn't a total wash -- I got to see Fernando Gonzalez on Ct. 5 (a tiny side-court that stacks back just three rows) beat up on a Spaniard (Anjuez?).

More than the experience of finally getting to see a match at Roland Garros (which I'm still awed by), Gonzo's forehand was something you simply have to see live to believe. It's a damn FORCE. As I watched him demolish Federer in that first set of the match he lost today, I couldn't help but become a big, big Fena fan. Plus, I was sitting with a bunch of Chileans. They were a fun lot.

But yeah, Nadal will absolutely demolish Federer in three sets, if Roger even gets to the final.

Djokovic - Nadal should be fun.

let's hope that Djokovic doesn't fuck up the crucial points like he did last time

But it's so damn entertaining when he fucks up :haha:

But it'd be great to see him progress to the final.

The women's rankings looks like an old Soviet Women's Party roster or something.

So finally, Federer is the one who is going to lose in three sets against Nadal on Sunday. Better watch the women's final, it surely will have more suspense.

Probably. Too bad Djokovic didn't show up until he was three games down in the final set.

I'm a proud Russopile and I'm loving the fact that the Russian women are dominating the sports. They're fucking gorgeous! :luv: :heartbeat:

With that said, I'll be rooting for the Serb, Ana Ivanovich, this time around since Sharapova got knocked out by Safina, another Russia. Ana's much hotter than Safina.
