the Yankees may end up losing Posada, Rivera, and A-Rod.

Wherever Andrew Jones signs will regret it. He is going to be way overpaid and is on a downward slope towards the shit end of his career.

well, posada i may be able to tolerate. he's going to be 37 when the season starts and i heard they were talking a 3-year deal worth at least $40 million.

I'd give him 3 years. He can DH more starting in 2009 after Giambi is gone.

He was pretty much hurrendous this season. I think he hit his wall.
definitely bad. but he had a similar down year in 2001 then reeled off 5 pretty good years.

I agree, He's a solid center fielder still, he'll get to a lot of balls, but man is he way overpricing himself.
20 Million, for a guy that in his best year hits 270? no, not for me thanks. Not for 20M a year. He'll probably hit 40 HR's again and maybe average around 33 for the rest of his career, but he's just not a good enough hitter to put him in the 20M range, though he does show up and play everyday injured or not.

the worst part its the waiting. Im dying to know what the Dodgers are going to do and 90% of baseball transactions dont happen until the real winter meetings in december.
until then its nothing but rumors from bullshit sources that get everyones hopes up but never happen.
like how LA was supposedly 30 seconds from pulling off a deal for Manny 2 yrs ago.

Looks like John Schuerholz is hanging it up in Atlanta. Frank Wren, a top assistant, is taking over. Speculation is that the Braves will look for a mid-level free agent to fill in at center until Jordan Schaeffter, a highly regarded prospect, is ready. Mike Cameron's name has come up repeatedly in rumors. I'd say it's 60-40 that Glavine comes back to Atlanta for one more year. They would still need a true number 3 starter but Glav would eat up some innings during the summer even if he will fade down the stretch. Left field is a question mark too, maybe Matt Diaz everyday? No secret they will shop Renteria but some whispers the K. Johnson may be in trade talks too. Yunel Escobar will start somewhere next season; either at short or second.

he was pretty good when properly rested. I say bring him back...

mike lowell's bat will come back to earth next year. but his D is amazing. much like the bill mueller situation, i don't want to see him go, would be very happy if he stayed, but don't expect it to happen.

is it definite that if torre is gone that posada and rivera are gone too?

The Yanks are never gonna win a WS with A-rod on the team. That said, I think it's unlikely he can be moved. That contract that Texas is still paying is a curse.

well...I guess you're right about that.
