I think Gaffney is going to resign after week 1 with a non-guaranteed contract. Didn't they do that last year or the year before with that TBC?

So did Brandon Bolden make the team? After watching this guy languish game after game without enough touches at Mississippi I'm really kind of hoping to see him break out. He's got a great skill set and ability. He just needs touches.

-Front seven looks completely transformed. -Ridley looks like the best runner New England's had since Dillon. -Lloyd is going to be a great acquisition. -Nice to finally watch a well called game. Balance, and lots of throws outside the numbers. Being able to stretch the field horizontally is every bit as being able to stretch it vertically. -Solder looks like shit.
See what happens when you cash in those draft picks, ole Bill?
Or, conversely, see what Belichick was waiting for with those picks the last few years?

He could have had Clay Matthews a few years ago, so I don't really buy that.
You can play that game all day long with every single team using every single guy they passed on that ended up being a stud. We've seen those videos of how their draft days go; he targets specific guys at specific value, and if they aren't there, he trades back and has more options in the future. And at some point, which happened to be this year, he has the ability to get the guys he targets.

4/5 is right.
New England had two opportunities to grab Matthews, and passed both times. They didn't like him because he wasn't - and still isn't - a fit for their defense.

Meh, I'm sure there was some second guessing after seeing how he turned out. Belichick is a very smart guy but I'm sure even he has guys he wonders about.

Also, the change in rookie contracts made the value of first-round picks much higher relative to previous drafts. It's no accident that he cashed in most of his chips at the most opportune time.
