Okay, i'm jumping the gun, but I wanted to start it, so I did. If nothing else the new season should be really, really interesting. I'm looking forward to it. Only like six weeks until pitchers and catchers.

I was toying with the idea of changing the year in the other thread. Looks like that won't be necessary.

Go Sox!

The Yankees new twin franchise!

I don't want to ever hear another Red Sox fan bitch about the way the Yankees run their franchise ever again.

*disclaimer - I fucking hate the Yankees

i'm very focused on the B's and Pats right now, but the bullpen-by-committee part 2 should be fun.... we'll see....

at which point does it become clear that the dolphins will be bad for a while:

1) Another season watching other teams in the playoffs

2) Saban leaves with three years left on his deal

3) Jason Taylor says he might retire (he's 32)

or

4) Their "franchise" QB (Culpepper) sucks, and they have a controversy involving; Daunte, "Joey" and Leo Clemons...

I guess I'd be pissed at the model franchise of the League, that just happened to play in the same division as my team if I were a dolphins fan...

i'll look you up come draft time, since you'll have plenty of time to mull over mock drafts....

Maybe he'll "graduate" and come to the Pats. That would be nice, man is a beast.

this is from boston.com about the piniero signing:

Another option for the Sox is to bring several middle relievers to spring training and then sort them out.

The Sox have Mike Timlin, Julian Tavarez, J.C. Romero, Brendan Donnelly, Craig Hansen, and Manny Delcarmen, among others, from whom to find someone to pitch the ninth inning.

Despite starting 148 games in 185 appearances, Pineiro can be added to that list of possibilities. In 2001, Price thought that Pineiro's value might be as a closer.

sounds a lot like closer by committee to me

When I saw that they had signed Pineiro, first thing I said was: well, that's the guy they want to close.

It will be interesting, I just wish that Hansen was ready to do the job now.
