Yeah, but nothing will happen. Just like 3 years from now if they find out the Pats continued to tape the rest of the teams they played all this year, it won't mean shit. It's not like the league will go back and take titles away.

I guess I do, but it wont change history. that night was the single worst night in my sportsfan life. and every time the pats play in the SB, i get to relive the nightmare again
as much as I wanna blame the Pats and this surely gives anything I could say more strength.....if Martz wasnt a fucking idiot and ran Faulk more, and if Lovie Fucking Smith doesnt play prevent on the last drive, the Rams probably win that game.
now that my insides hurt, I will not be back in this thread. have fun fellas.....im gonna go drink a beer and do the bob'n'weave

You do realize that if this is true it wasn't anything the Patriots didn't already have, right? If I recall correctly the Rams didn't run any trick plays. So the plays that the Patriots supposedly had on this walkthrough tape are the same ones that the Rams ran in the NFC Championship game the week before and in the divisional playoff game two weeks before that and in the game in Foxboro that November, etc. Sure there may some new stuff but they Rams didn't change much at all in that game. If they can tell a play apart because of the formation or which guy goes in motion because of the walkthrough tape they can almost certainly do the same thing from the tapes of the previous 18 games.

like i said before, this is bad only if the guy was employed by the pats and if the pats coaching staff even looked at it.
i still say the pats win the game and other super bowls either way because the players make plays; not the coaches.
the other question: is this specifically against nfl rules? do they have a rule that says you can't leave a video camera going in the stadium; especially if no one notices? and how could the rams not notice?

Huh? Teams install new plays all the time. Especially a guy like Martz who was notorious for running one of the more complicated offenses in the league. Anyway, assuming the Rams didn't install a single new play before that Superbowl (unlikely), having a tape of a team's walkthrough would still give the opponent a pretty good idea of what plays from previous weeks they weren't going to run.

but if they had a hand in knowing that if a linebacker is lined up over a tackle and the corner is 6 yds off, you know the exact scheme that team is running on D and that is a huge cheaty mccheat cheat thing to do

Kurt Warner, just yesterday on NFL Radio, said that at least 10% of the Playbook in that Super Bowl game was different than when they faced the Pats (that very same year) during the regular season. They were talking about the difference between regular season games and Super Bowl match ups.
This was before this article came out today...
OF COURSE the playbook is different!!

Having a tape of a team's walk through would be VERY valuable because a lot of those plays are plays that are definitely going to be run in the game and are getting a final practice in the walk through. That is why it is called a "walk-through." The team goes at about 75-80% effort for the plays that will be run during the game. If the Pats had this, they definitely had an advantage going into the game.
If (and this is a big if) this is proven to be true, the NFL would face a HUGE public relations outcry to do something substantial to punish the Pats. I'm not picking one side or the other in this debate, but just stating the facts, the NFL CAN'T let this slide by if it is proven true.

Um, why wouldn't this "source" had said something when the story broke months ago? Gotta love this story coming out a few days before the game and not one quote from this "source"

Yeah, for the story to have merit, it needs to be investigated and people need to come forth with evidence, otherwise, it is just people with an agenda try to derail the Pats before the Super Bowl.

This guy wasn't even working for the Pats when they played the Rams in the Super Bowl. You have to love journalism. Unamed sources and a disgruntled former employee with an axe to grind are really a solid foundation for a story.
This story coming out now is great, the Pats are going to be pissed again.

From what i've read, Walsh wasn't even the guy who claims to have taped the walk-through for the Rams game.
