I agree with your top 3...not sure I'm ready to put Howard up that high. And I think Wade might get himself back into the discussion if healthy again.

if I had named it the "Kobe Bryant Shit Talk Thread", would it have your approval?

A healthy Wade is better than Kobe, I have been arguing that since his second season.
I'm still not convinced that a healthy Wade is really that great without the help of the officials. I'd still take Kobe over Wade any day. I might take Anthony over Wade if it weren't for the off the court issues.

Wade averages 24 points, 6.5 assists, 4.8 boards 1.7 steals and .9 blocks on 48% shooting for his career and won a title as the best player on his team.
Kobe averages 25 points, 4.6 assists, 5.3 boards, 1.5 steals and .6 blocks on 45% shooting and won 3 titles as a 2nd option.
I prefer the way Wade plays to Kobe, I think he is an all around better player.

Well, what I like about Wade is he's totally fearless, but I don't know how long that'll continue with his injury problems (or if they contribute to them). And I'd like to see him play without the advantage that certain flashy players get from the officials (of course Kobe gets that too).

if you really want to cry think about this: that fat fuck played FIVE minutes ALL of last season and was paid about 6 million dollars.

I noticed that when I looked him up just to make sure he was still in the league. Was he released or hurt at some point or did he just sit the bench for all but 5 minutes all year?

Hard to say who the best is....the most complete players are Kobe and I think you have to put Pierce in there. They can take it to the hole, hit the mid range shot(lost art), can shoot the long ball and are money from the charity stripe. Plus they can both play D. I can't think any other players that can do all that.
James and Wade have no in between game, limited range from three point land(except for the odd game here or there) and play very inconsistent D. Melo has the offensive game but zero D.
Off course James is just a kid so if he works on his game he'll be the best...not MJ the best but in the conversation.

such a great topic. I'm still saying the best all-around player is Kobe, based on overall skills. However, the Celtics did write the book on how to defend him this week, so it'll be interesting to see how he reacts to what he'll see next season. (For the record, I can't stand the guy, but he's that good).
I think LeBron's on the cusp of becoming the best player. He's a lot of fun to watch when he's on.
Right now, at this moment, the best player in the NBA is Paul Pierce. But over the long run, he's probably just on the cusp of the top 10, but at this moment, he's the man.
