When the C's are playing basketball in June, this SI cover always comes to mind:

A bittersweet end to a five-year curious and exciting era that stands out in Celtics history for many reasons. Chiefly, because most of Boston's titles came in bunches, so the stand-alone 2008 championship is unique.

i'd imagine more banners if KG had been able to stay healthy the prior 2 years. not to mention the mistake that continues to be the Perk trade.

I think they beat the Lakers in 2010 if Perkins didn't tear his ACL in the Finals.

and he certainly would have helped this year as well considering they could have won the ECF in 6 w/o him.

Yeah, it's hard to play the what-if game though.

yeah, although, it's not really a what if game when you're comparing jermaine o'neal & Perk.

after all, Perk's a BEAST.

It's true. He is so limited offensively though. It's kind of sad to watch at times.

Conversely, it's pretty fun watching him run up the court.

That is absolutely true, which is why it is difficult to play the what-if game.

Considering the "big 3's" ages when they joined the Celtics it was a good run.

I like last night's draft. Take a few chances. We needed big men.
