Just wondering if any of the yanks have heard of rugby union? Are there enough supporters to have an official thread?

This is the sports forum, we as RMers have alot of different sports thread. Varying from Specific Team threads, to the Major "Yankee" Sports, and then we have the Premier League threads and other football/soccer, to Aussie sports, to motorsports.
So if you feel like RM needs a new sports thread, then go for it, even if you are the only one that posts in it. I've made the the IRL thread, and am the only one that mostly posts in it . And ManiacalClown has made the MLS thread, and he makes the most posts in that thread.

I played it until I was 19. I played for Ulster under 18s and Ireland under 17s. My ligaments in my ankles got done at the same time in a tackle. End of rugby.

Word. Been waiting for some talk on this - I can't stand league. Too much stop and go. Anybody here play in the states? I play for a division 1 club here in the Philly area.

Too much stop and go, yet you prefer union? I can't follow that logic....

I still love it with a passion.
what part of the wee green island you in now?
I only pay attention to 6 Nations, and loosely at that...kinda hard over here, out of sight, out of mind etc. Every now and then I think of it and look up the standings and maybe go watch a game if it's being shown here.

Yeah I like a bit of Rugger. Used to play Prop forward when I was younger and fitter. Great game. A proper man's game, no need for 32" bullet proof armour in Rugby.

Otherwise known as kick and clap. Rugby League is far better.
Chuckle.
The matches played under ELV have been generally been great to watch. Pity the Northern Hemisphere lot won't play along and make the game more open.
The ELVs have improved thing I must admit. If you were the Northern Hemisphere you wouldn't be changing either - they wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning under the new laws. Their game is based on fat arses slowing the ball down and playing 10-man rugby.
