The outfield rotation will likely be Hunter, Vlad, Abreu and Anderson with Riveria doing most of the DHing.

abreu is really, really bad defensively.

I hope every ball hit toward Abreu is hit at or near the fence. Then the carnival begins.

Griffey has to weigh the adoration of fans in Seattle vs. proximity to family in Atlanta.

We all know how the family angle worked out in Cincy, so I hope he comes around. In the end I'll be extremely disappointed if he chooses ATL, but I would understand. I don't have kids or anything, but it's a personal choice.

It would be hard to pass up though. He'll just be another guy on the Braves. In Seattle, people would show up all summer specifically just to see him.

I think he'd rather have a chance to win a world series, eventhough it's pretty slim for Atlanta as well.

I wouldn't be so upset, Griffey is serviceable at best.

It's not so much Griffey as it is... Peavy, Smoltz, Burnett, Furcal, Griffey etc etc.

Ultimately he went after a bunch of fairly average FA's and wiffed on all of them. Some of them were stupid anyway.

He was trying to sell tickets and bolster the leagues most pathetic outfield ever with Griffey.

I guess Jason Heyward gets to come find out if he can hit major league pitching much much earlier.

My issue essentially is that going back to last year when they didn't get Jason Bay or Xavier Nady when they could have.... they sent Frenchy down for 3 days and then outside of picking up some more fairly average but more durable pitchers this off season... they let thier best bullpen pitcher of last season Will Ohman go ($) and they still have done nothing about the impressive lack of output in the OF... unless Jason Heyward is that guy anyway.

I agree, in my opinion, the Braves spent a lot of (money and prospects) on being a 3rd place team.
