God I love this! I'm not a Red Sox fan, but I hate the Yankees. Can you imagine how miserable Big Stein will make this offseason for everyone associated with the Yankees?

Now, sorry Sox fans, but I hope you get your ass kicked by whoever wins the NL. You and your bloated payroll are Public Enemy 1A. It was a great series, but I hope you go down as hard as you took it to NY.

Bloated payroll?

They are second only to the Yankees...

ooooooh, gotcha, thanks, didn't know that

Exactly why real baseball fans outside NY hate the Yankees.

life is completely ironic. the AL match up i've been excited about all season has had the outcome and celebration that i've wanted to see since as long as i can remember knowing about the feud, and it's all completely overshadowed by my excitement about my hopes for my own team tomorrow. i can't even enjoy this 100%

but, to be clear, ALRIGHT RED SOX!

This is what is commonly known as "making fun of oneself". People who don't take themselves too seriously can do it.

Amazing. Hats off to the Red Sox. Now go make sure you win it all.

As for the standing O, it would have happened if you hadn't locked up the game in the 4th inning. By the time it ended, the Yankee fans were half gone, and the rest too shellshocked to remember their manners.

Pfft. Come on.

now im a huge yankee fan, but lets look in retrospect ( i am not taking any credit away from boston, look at what i say)

first, the series should have been over in 6 - if schilling is healthy he wins game 1 and they clinch in game 6. this is a good sox team.

secondly, im sorta proud of the yankees - they lost clemens, pettitte, and wells, and still made it to a game 7 with the sox.

i met a really nice sox fan at the bar - i had a civilized convo with him when timlin was being taken out in the 9th. i dunno why so many people have to be assholes and give us fans bad names as a whole.

Some faster than others...

I'm going to excuse some of the poor winners for lack of experience, wish the Red Sox the best of luck in the Series, and go back to the N&D forum where I belong. B'ya.

YES

YES

YES

Hey Yankee fans, great series, but I am so happy my team beat yours. I've waited a long, long time. You were in the World Series last year, the last time the Sox went I was 13 (i'm 31 now). i'm very proud of my team, what a comeback. What a comeback. What a comeback.

I cannot believe they are playing the World F'n Series at Fenway on Saturday. That's Un-Bee-Lee-vable.

The All-Star game rule is so stupid.

If the Cardinals win the NL, they have to play away even though they had a better regular season record.

MLB, you really fucked it up with this rule.

No, I don't think so. I kinda like it. The AL ands NL teams play each other so sporadically and rarely during the regular season that it doesn't make much sense to let the team with the better record have homefield advantage.

And the alternating rule they had was a bit too arbitrary. This adds some excitement to the All-Star game and works better than any alternative, IMO.

I can't see how anyone can be in favor of a rule as arbitrary as the "alternating" home field advantage rule.
