Rasmus with a 5-for-5 night in the win. That sure helps his numbers... suddenly he's hitting just under .250. He's quite possibly my favourite Blue Jay right now. He's got such a great swing and plays so well defensively (except, apparently, for a pretty bad error tonight) and now that he seems to be enjoying himself and getting some confidence I think he'll put together a big final 100 games of the year. He's turning the corner and getting back to being the player the Jays hoped they got from St. Louis.

Didn't see the game but that's awesome! He's probably my favorite Jay right now as well... him and Drabek.

I don't know, but I'm guessing he's just taking some days off. I can't stand Alan Ashby. Never thought I'd miss Buck Martinez.

I like Ashby. I think he's great on the radio with Howarth.

Now Greg Zaun, on the other hand, is awful. I thought Cruz was great the few games when he filled in, but Zaun drives me crazy.

I don't mind Buck really... but anyways. Tough luck for our starters, I hope this isn't how the rest of the season is gonna go.

Yeah it's been a pretty awful week. One of the things that makes this team so exciting is the young rotation. They're all so talented, but you never really know what you're going to get from day to day because of their inexperience. Now they're going to have to replace a couple spots in the rotation with replacement level filler with very little upside. It kinda takes away from the fun a little bit.

Hopefully Morrow and Hutchison aren't out too long... and hopefully Drabek can get back sometime next year.

Wow. The Jays offense is having a nice game against Boston tonight... but Henderson Alvarez has left the game with an injury. What the hell? Apparently it was just precautionary, but if it's anything more then the Jays will have lost FOUR pitchers from their rotation in about two weeks.

Well this should be fun... Scott Richmond called up and Jamie Moyer has signed with the Las Vegas 51s (AAA). You're welcome, AL East.

Four starting pitchers. Alvarez apparently just had "soreness" in his elbow, so hopefully he's not down for the count ... but seeing as how Santos has been on the 15-day DL since April, I don't know. It's like we've angered the baseball gods or something.

Any chance the training staff could be at fault for the pitching injuries? Lack of pre-game prep etc?? This is just ridiculous.

Not the slightest chance. I've seen other people mention this and it just doesn't make any sense. It's been really bad luck, and that's about it.

And now how about Brett "Take One For The Team, Bro" Lawrie? This is getting fucking ridiculous. We're going to see Snider up here yet.
