Really, ultimately, stupid to put him in prison for even 2 years.
2 months of jail would be just as effective and taxpayers wouldn't be wasting money imprisoning a millionaire. If he shot and injured someone else... fine. He hurt himself. This is just a waste of time.
Now by 40 he'll be broke and another freaking ward of the state. Nice job New York.

They gave him a plea of 3 months in jail and 1500hrs of community service and he turned it down because he told his attorney he could talk them down to no jail time. Prosecutors don't like when you turn down a deal when they feel they are already giving you a break. I dont blame them for throwing the book at him. He thought his money and fame could get him off the hook.... wrong.

So let me get this straight. Plaxico Burress shoots himself and gets 2 years in prison. Meanwhile, Donte Stallworth admittedly kills another person but only gets 30 days and probation.

That cant be right. from the night it happened Bloomberg was on a mission for Plax to get the bare minimum of 3 years. If he was really offered 3 months he would have taken it and been the happiest man on earth

i dont remember if it was official or not, but i do remember hearing that he had a plea offer for just a couple of months but he turned it down because he was too scared of jail and thought he should be able to get out of any jail time at all.
but it was early on in the off season and definitely could have just been rumor

I think his money and fame is what got him on the "hook" in the first place. I bet this crime for a guy with no history of violent crimes (i think) would have resulted in community service and probation if it wasn't a name that was in the paper.

I actually agree with Bhed on this one.
This right here.
