Let me tell you all a little story about the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban and the murder of good sense, hope, children and innocence.

I played some pickup ball not long ago on an outdoor court by my apartment. The nets were chain, the court was cracking, the kids were... well, good, and mostly a good 5-10 years younger than me. I was a nifty passer but I have no wheels and when I do shoot 3-pointers it looks vaguely like a retarded person trying to fight themselves out of a trash bag. The kids I was playing were all fast as lightning, could perform running jumpshots and didn't look like an infant giraffe running from a lion when they took the ball down the lane. Give you one guess who that was.

Being the only white boy I figured when we picked teams I would be picked last. I was. As soon as we separated into teams these two kids on the other team got in a fight, one of whom was easily the best floor general there. Guy was maybe 15 (I'm 23). So, and I'm not shitting you at all, I get traded to the other team for this badass PG. I must be the first traded player in pick-up history.

Moral of the story, the other team got a badass, quick point guard (bye Devin) and the other team got... slow-ass, retard-shooting, past-his-prime me (Hi Jason). Fucking Mavs.

Oh right, preseason just started.

Let's hope for an injury free season of the Utah Jazz.

Oh and Carlos Boozer is still up for trade if any of you want him ;)

Boozer can lick a sack, that guy gets whatever he deserves, and I don't even like Cleveland at all.

I wonder if Tyler Hansbrough will produce in the NBA this year for the Pacers?

Ty Lawson looked pretty good for the Nuggets.

this reminds me of Rick Smits; they've both got/had the tall lanky white Pacer thing going on. my dad knew that guy; i met him once, that was pretty cool. don't know what happened to that autograph though.

I doubt he'll be as good as Smits. Smits was a pretty solid center for awhile there
That team had some players...Smits, Reggie, Sleepy Sam Perkins, Dale and Antonio Davis
