And from the Stars fans I know, they don't like him either.

The only person that likes the Stars is the Agent who stole almost all of Mike Modano's money.

I'm a big Stars fan and a moderate Rangers fan, though I follow them as much as I can. I don't live in Texas anymore and these teams have shitty fanbases so it's hard to keep up with them - especially the Stars - but I make do. Hicks is mostly a failure pile in a sadness bowl. He has a lot of money but he's a dumbass when it comes to sports decisions.

The Stars have actually been managed pretty well, though Hicks has this theory that if "we just bring in that ONE BADASS, everything will be okay." The 2007-08 season aside, which was completely insane considering how ridiculous that dual manager shit was, the Stars have been in steady decline. He just throws money at shit. Sean Avery was supposed to be our ONE BADASS ENFORCER last season and that turned to shit. Our GM revolving door is hilarious. Now its Joe Niewendyk. Whatever. We are OLD and getting older. Hicks' response will probably be to bring Brett Hull out of retirement. The fact that this team has made the playoffs every year since 02 - last year aside because we got hammered by injuries - is an absolute miracle.

He made the Rangers' farm system impotent for the better part of a decade almost singlehandedly and it's just now stabilizing because he lucked into good management due to no real acumen of his own. I still haven't forgiven him for the ARod signing. It would have made sense if 1.) the Rangers were anywhere close to being a contender, or 2.) the deal left him with enough money to make more big signings. Hicks saw a bunch of sluggers and thought, "well fuck, we can hit our way to the playoffs." Texas is still getting over that trade. Are the Rangers done paying him yet?

Some fans look at us and say, "at least you have an owner that spends money." Trust me, it's not any better than having a penny-pincher. I'm convinced Hicks just makes shit up on the go. He's a tinkerer in the worst way.

Well shit.....my worst fears all came true in that little ditty!! Yeah,he is pretty much doing the same to us,him and george gillett came and promised us players,a new ground and more revenue from worldwide merchandise. so far we just signed a deal with a new sponsor that should have been done years ago and we are gettin on average ONE BADASS a season!! and the rest of our signing are kids!! And injured kids at that!! No new ground cos we cant afford it,and revenue that hasnt changed a bit.
I hate the man,there is a plan in place here from this week onwards to non-violently stop him getting to anywhere he wants to go in the city! from the airport to his hotel,from his hotel to the stadium,from the stadium back to his hotel,just disrupt him as much as we can and make him hate this place so he will agree to a bidder sooner rather than later!
And him and gillett dont even speak anymore,they hate each other cos gillett knows they are not wanted so he wants out but hicks wont let him sell up,its all gone fucking pear shaped for my beloved club...

Some of you might know the story of Leeds United FC,they were in the same position,got bought,spent big,had no idea how to be managed and are now languishing in the third tier of the football league with no money and no hope of becoming the force they once were...i pray this wont be our club......

I'm actually a Roma fan too, and you guys got absolutely fleeced on that Aqui deal. I love Alberto - he's a pure bred Roman for fuck's sake - and he's a genius midfielder, but only in flashes. He's an injury case obviously, I think everybody least of all Liverpool fans know that by now, but he's not the developmental guy everybody thinks he is. He's 25. He's basically been as good as he is now for the past four years because he never gets to play. When Pool signed him I laughed and told my buddy from Dallas, "typical Hicks bullshit." What was that deal worth again? Like 20 million pounds? Way too much for an injury case, but Roma needs it, so thanks!

Hicks won't change, though he DOES luck into good managers now and again. The unfortunate part is (I don't think?) EPL teams have general managers above the managers to handle all the talent like US pro teams do, so there's less of a safety net between shitty owners and shitty, overpriced players.
