Anybody judging this trade after 9 games is kind of dumb. People failed to realize at the beginning of the year that the team didnt have an o-line, wide recievers, and had an aging/not good defense. You can have a bad O-line or a bad receivers, but you can't have both. So to think this team was a 10-11 win team this year was silly. That being said, they do have the largest and hardest piece to the puzzle and that is Jay Cutler. You make that deal everyday, especially now that the league is the pass happy. Would the Bears be better with the draft picks now? Of course, but thats what you trade when you're getting a piece like Cutler. Whether he pans out is another argument.
And don't worry about Cutler interceptions, his total is a lot less in his 4 years then a number of hall of fame quarterbacks.

Other than being able to throw the ball really hard and really far, what exactly do you see in Jay Cutler that leads you to believe he's the piece to any puzzle that includes playoff success?

That he has 4 wins this year with this offense. People outside of Chicago don't understand how bad our receivers are and yet, they all have decent numbers. That points to only one guy, Jay Cutler.

How'd he do last year with Mike Shanahan and Brandon Marshall?
