Jayson Stark's newest story on the starting rotation

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/spring201 ... id=6122549

I liked the fact how for their introductory press conference the other day that the 4 aces refused to do it unless Joe Blanton was included as well (as he originally wasn't). I agree with many of the writers I've heard lately speak on this, from a pure baseball standpoint, taking away the ideas of budget worries, etc, there's no reason to try and be trading Blanton, he gives you one of the best #5 pitchers in the league. The only way would be if you could get a solid righthanded bat for him, and I doubt they could.

I hate any word where people replace "F" with "PH".

They don't need a nickname, I don't know why everyone wants them to have some witty nickname.

C'mon, really? of course you do. For better or worse, the media loves to come up with a cute little label for the headline when they've got something special. And not like it's anything new, been going on for years.

haha.. I hear ya.

Btw, from Todd Zolecki's blog:

70,000 tickets were sold today (thurs), the first say single game tix went on sale.

15 different games are already completely sold out (no doubt at least 2 of the Red Sox games are included in that)

over 3.3 million tickets have been sold so far (versus 2.8mil this point last year)

And now GQ is reveling in labeling us as the worst fans in sports.

 could this be any more lame...

That 9th inning was pretty awesome to watch. Glad that they finished the rally and didn't send it to extra innings for selfish purposes.

Yea I mean I think Ryan Howard kinda botched it there by not following behind Rollins and bothering to steal 2nd, I'm just thankful that didn't come back to really bite them.

And I just couldn't deal with the idea of Brett Fucking Myers outdueling Roy Halladay on opening day. I mean c'mon, Myers in relation to our offense is not superior to Halladay in relation to their offense. I hate it when this team makes players look significantly better than what they really are. Myers has grown into being a quality pitcher, but c'mon.

I screen captured this the night it was fresh on here and keep forgetting to come post it up... ya know if not for simply process of elimination, I don't think I would've ever figured out that Halladay was the guy on the far right :haha: Obviously this is a caricature and the other 3 look enough like them to make the connection, but the Doc one seems way off.
