Despite the fact that I like Indy more than NE, I think you're right.

So, the top NFC team of the decade is a team with 4 NFC title game losses and 1 Super Bowl loss.

Quite the turnaround from the days when the NFC won 12 straight Super Bowls.

i dont think anyone would argue against the fact that the afc was much stronger than the nfc during the decade, but i think its starting to even out.

although the fact that the eagles are ranked higher than the giants might play a small part in your comment.

No, I think that's fair. The Eagles were more consistently good, although never truly great. The Giants had a couple of really good seasons and one Championship, but frankly their two Super Bowl appearances were both kind of fluky. Their best teams, IMO, were the team that lost to the Eagles in the playoffs last year, and the team that blew that game to the 49ers in 2003. Ugh, it still makes me a bit sick to my stomach thinking about that fucking game.

But what if the Colts win?

Debate this, fuckers. I don't care if 4/5 is the only one that has a contrarian opinion thus far.

GH thanks for compiling this list, it's been an enjoyable read for weeks now. That being said, even though I'm strongly biased, I would still rank the Colts #2 and the Pats #1 even with a Colts SB victory today.

let's go w/ head-to-head since '00 to settle things (reg. & post season):

pats Ws: IIII III
colts Ws: IIII I

in 3 of the last 4 years the colts have really made up some ground, but the pats have the edge for the decade.

Even if the Colts has won, I still think NE earned team of the decade. 3-1 makes it obvious, but 3-2 still is decisive to me.

without a doubt

not just 3 SB wins, but an additional SB trip, a perfect regular season, and an entire year without Brady

plus, I'd argue the Bears were a relatively weak SB team when the Colts beat them.

Does anyone think the Steelers should be #2? Just curious. I hate the everloving shit out of both the Steelers and the Colts, but I think I might put Pit at #2. Not really sure.

Indy was way too consistent this decade to not be 2. 9/10 years making the postseason in the salary cap era.

I'll try and finish this up tomorrow, probably in the evening. Yesterday is still kicking my ass right now.
