What, he was supposed to let the kid have $75,000 worth of jewelry just because the kid asked for it? What on earth made those people assume he was just going to hand it over? Daunte clearly meant well by showing the kid some love, but to assume that he was going to just GIVE him those necklaces is ludicrous.

That is very silly for people expect him to just hand the jewlery over like that. And in all reality i'm sure thats the last thing the kid needs right now.

why take it off at all and do that, it's stupid. Just smile and laugh when he says something. He didn't say he was taking it back when he put it around his neck. All of that is on Culpepper. It was a stupid move to begin with.

Then again I'd view 75 grand worth of jewlery to be stupid anyway so that's just me.

He was trying to be nice to the kid and these idiots assume he'd give them the keys to his car if they asked. "What? He makes millions! Why wouldn't he give my boy that jewelry! It meant so much to him!"

Daunte probably figured it was the only way hed ever wear such expensive jewelry...seeing as how a SB ring is not really in his future and all...

I think it was a bad move on Daunte's part to give the kid the jewelry in the first place. He had to realize that the kid wasn't completely serious, thus not expecting the necklaces.

I'm sure that the kid didnt even expect to keep it. I'm sure its just this one guy who is writing the article probably has some problem with Daunte and wants him to look like a bad guy even though he really did nothing wrong.

I don't think that what he did was wrong. The kid is still going to get something (in the mail), which is a lot more than most people get.

Culpepper is my favorite player, but I am not being biased right now.

I don't see why anyone is surprised. It's not like it's rare for Daunte to lose something, and then suddenly...try and get it back.

Sincerely,
the football

he was put in a bad situation from the get-go on this one when the kid asked him the question. the best response probably would've been to say something like "work real hard and one day you'll get your own bling" and then give the kid a signed jersey or something like that.

or, you know, not to wear a $75k piece of jewelry
